I am calm, organized, and logical.
My Self-Summary
I am a software engineer at a company in Davis that makes
underwater robotic vehicles. I'm interested in computers and
robotics, so it's a good match for me. I recently graduated with a
bachelors degree from
Sacramento State
University. I am a shy person with a small circle of close
friends. I have a kind of dry sense of humor; I'm not always funny,
but at times I'm hilarious. I tend to stay on top of technology pop
culture, so I make a lot of references to that. I suppose it's
because I'm a nerd at heart.
What I’m doing with my life
Most of the time spent in my life is consumed by going to work and
sleeping. In the time that isn't spent doing either of those
things, I enjoy working on projects with my friends, playing video
games, and surfing the web.
I’m really good at
Math, and thinking logically. I'm good at things like puzzles, and
games like chess.
The first things people usually notice about me
How shy I am, and if I'm lucky, how intelligent I am.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I don't read books too often since I've graduated from High School,
but before that I read a lot. Recently I've been listening to
audiobooks on my commute if those count. Some of my favorite books
are the Mode series by Piers Anthony, One Jump Ahead, Lord of the
Rings,
The
Golden Compass, and
The Time Traveller's
Wife.
My favorite movie is
The Fifth Element. I also like
a lot of other movies, some of which are X-men (#2 specifically),
Spiderman,
Pirates of the
Carribean,
The
Matrix, and The Harry Potter Movies. I also like kind of weird
movies like
Donnie Darko,
Pi,
Save the Green Planet and
Oldboy, and really
over the top movies like
Grindhouse and
Big trouble in Little
China, and
Kung-Fu Hustle. It generally
doesn't take much to get me to like a movie though, a lot of movies
my friends don't like or get bad reviews I end up liking. Some more
recent movies I've enjoyed are
Slumdog Millionaire,
Let the
Right One In (subtitled),
Hellboy (1 and 2),
Fanboys, and
Forgetting Sarah
Marshall.
As for music, I like a wide variety of music, but I'm not really
fond of pop songs that get played over and over on the radio,
usually with a lot of Auto-tune (so most of R&B and rap; I like
older stuff though). I usually listen to podcasts/audiobooks when
I'm in my car, but I do listen to streaming radio when I'm at
work/on weekends. When I do, I listen to techno (hardcore / euro
dance) when I want some energy, or when I want to relax a little I
like listening to classical/jazz. I also like most rock music from
the 90s, and for I occasionally like to listen to Speed metal for
short periods of time. I don't really like ballads/slow
songs.
For food, one of my friends said I eat like a child. He's been
training me to eat more things though, and now I'm much more likely
to try new things. My favorites are Italian, submarine sandwiches,
and my grandmother's molasses cookies. I'm a tea drinker; I drink
pretty much an entire pot each day at work, of various kinds of tea
(mainly black, and some white/herbals).
The six things I could never do without
My house
My cell phone
My computer
My car
Podcasts
Google
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Ideas for new projects, and how to accomplish the ones I already
have the best. How the universe works.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing things with my friends: either having dinner, playing pool,
going shopping; hosting a movie night at my house; or if all else
fails, even playing video games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
When I was a kid, I used to dress up as a Klingon like my dad and
go to Star Trek conventions with him. And no, I still haven't seen
the new Star Trek movie yet.
You should message me if
You are at least somewhat intelligent. Nothing is more of a turn
off to me than someone that I can't have an engaging conversation
with, even if she is the most beautiful person in the world.
