I am Janus-faced, Wagnerian, and anaphylactic.
My Self-Summary
The superficial bits:
I'm 5'7", 135, brown hair (mussy), blue eyes. I suppose I'm
decently built, although more from picking up/setting down large
boxes all day.
Personality-wise, I'm fairly intelligent, witty - you know,
generally pleasant to be around.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a junior, studying history and
German. Es wäre fantastisch wenn du
deutsch sprächest.
After class I work part time moving boxes with both passion and
flair. Outside of these commitments, I like to tell people I'm an
amateur vinyl DJ (as in beer and gas money)
Things feel unmoored. I'm leaving for Berlin in September.
I’m really good at
-memorizing useless things
-procrastination
-writing
I started
cooking
for myself and my family when I was 16, so most things I make in
the kitchen end up being edible
The first things people usually notice about me
Blue eyes. When I was younger people used to comment that I looked
like Elisha Woods - but I think it was just the eyes. And probably
the Hobbit-hair.
I am almost certainly either listening to, or at the very least
wearing headphones.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books:
Catch-22, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Great Gatsby, and
anything by Thomas Bernhard are the perennial favorites. More
recently read: Novel Without a Name - Duong Thu Huong, and Was
Bleibt - Christa Wolf.
Movies:
Anything the Coen brothers turn to gold, although I'm a
particularly big fan of The Big Lebowski and No Country For Old
Men. I have an all-consuming love of nature documentaries (Read:
Planet
Earth)
I could probably waste far too much room here detailing the tangled
intricacy of my musical interests, but lets save the masturbatory
indie-cred sessions for later. Instead I'll just give you my top 3
most personally-influential bands:
-Elvis Costello, The Who, and the Wu-Tang Clan.
This may tell you a little something about my taste.
Food:
Anything spicy, although Indian, Mexican, and Thai are probably my
favorites. I'm not picky.
The six things I could never do without
I would wither away and die without:
-turntables
-history books
-
coffee
-the internet
-beer
-taco van[s]
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The balance between self-definition and being alone, laut der
deutschen Menschenfeinde.
Playlists to suit every mood and event.
A town in north Ontario, with dream comfort memory to spare.
On a typical Friday night I am
Drinking with friends at a pleasantly divey (non-hipster)
bar.
Somewhere between Thursday and Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm slightly OCD. I'm not talking
Monk-level, but the occasional lock gets
double-checked.
So I meant it about obsessively making playlists: I have a playlist
for my funeral, and three different ones for sex....One includes
the song Dirty White Boy, by Foreigner. Yes, I will start laughing.
You should message me if
You are smart enough to understand big words.
You can list the original Wu-Tang in order of preference. (Top 3
Beatles albums is also acceptable)
