My self-summary Propose an edit

Do these sites work? I'm a little skeptical about the internet dating thing and am looking for a woman to prove me wrong. Its been about 10 years since i've tried this and since I ended up dating the last woman i met online, I figured I would give it another go. I'm a 34 yr old male living in the NW burbs of Chicago. I'm divorced and single and am currently looking for someone to talk to and possibly meet and cause some trouble with if things work out. I go out to the bars every once in a while but I feel that its a little difficult to find that perfect match in the bar scene which is why i'm giving the online dating thing a try.

I currently work in the Insurance industry and also have a side business doing web design/graphics so i'm definitely keeping busy. I aksi hold several certifications in the computer industry and have also attended the Illinois Institute of Art and received my certification in Web Design/Graphics. I'm into extreme sports (snowboarding, mtn biking, paintball, etc) and as for music, I listen to a lot of alternative, rock, hip hop, top 40, club music (progressive/trance) and even the oldies/classic rock.

As for accomplishments, i've done a lot in 34 years. I've been in the military and traveled all over the world (I highly recommend Australia as a vacation spot...VERY nice people!). I was given an honorable discharge in 1996 for serving my country. When I was playing paintall competitively (long story lol), the team I played for was selected to be in a few Xbox/Playstation video games and you can see the jersey i designed for our team in the game. I've also been a part of the Chicago music scene although its been a long time since i've done anything with that. I used to be 1 of 3 owners in a Chicago event promotions company but after a little more than a year of putting together events, I eventually got burned out on it.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Sports would be the number one thing i'm good at. That and being a good listener. I've always been into Baseball, Football, and Hockey when growing up and then more extreme sports as I got older. Oh, and I also play a mean game of Bags!

One thing I get a lot is "what nationality are you?"...which is 1/2 Korean, Irish, Italian, German and a whole bunch of other stuff. Yup i'm a mutt of sorts.

I dont read as often as I used to but I'm a big Steven King fan. By the way, that movie "It" with that scary ass clown gave me nightmares haha!

As for movies, I'm a big Quentin Tarantino and Will Ferrell fan. Old school, Talladega Nights (Grandpa...I'll jump all over you like a Spider Monkey! lol), Sin City, 300, Never Ending Story, The Labyrinth, Goonies (Truffle Shuffle anyone?), both Kill Bills, Resevoir Dogs, Transformers, and the new Batman Dark Knight movie would be some of my favorites.

Music...hmmm....I like a WIDE range of music. If you checked out my Ipod, you would find:
- Electronic (Progressive, Trance, UK Hard House, 2 Step, mostly) - Paul Oakenfold, DJ Jean, Tidy Trax (especially Lisa Lashes), Nukleuz, DJ Wizz Kid (local DJ in Chicago/Milwaukee and old friend), Tiesto, Andy Farley, Paul Glazby and more. I dont listen to Electronic as much as I used to but its still on the Ipod. Dont worry...i went through the whole "clubhead" phase a looooong time ago.
- Alternative - 311 (these guys ROCK live!), 3 Doors Down, Flobots, Sublime, Green Day, Sum 41, Puddle of Mudd, Smashing Pumpkins, Creed, Matchbox 20, Buckcherry, and Foo Fighters
- 80's music (I wont embarrass myself online by listing "those" bands lol) but im not afraid to admit that the best music video of all time is Take On Me by AH HA
- Rap/Hip Hop/R&B like Wu Tang (mostly Method Mans stuff) Outkast, older Jay-Z, Kanye, Fugees (anything by Lauren Hill), Alicia Keys, Pharcyde, Diggable Planets, Sade, and definitely Mos Def (great actor and lyricist)
- I also have a lot of Beatles on the Ipod. I grew up listening to them and going to the occasional Beatlefest with my dad.

Having someone to share my life with. I miss having a woman that I can cuddle and watch tv/movies with at home along with having her be my best friend and just being there when i need her.

Depends on my mood. Lately i've been taking it easy on the weekends but if I go out, I usually like to go out to a club/bar downtown or going to try new places to eat/hang out. I've been working a lot on the weekends (about to change soon) so I haven't been heading downtown all that often.
