Your Notes
Edit your notesI am mischievous, intelligent, and passionate.
My Self-Summary
I'm really tall (6'5), dark (Spanish, German, Italian, Mexican and French), and people (WHO ARE NOT BLIND!) have described me as being handsome.
As far as politics go...I descibe myself as a Libertarian. I think the current two-party system here in the USA sucks big time. I don't think Republicans or Democrats represent anyone but their own self-serving interests. I met Ron Paul when I was in high school and have been his biggest fan ever since!
I did my undergrad (Historic Preservation and Community Planning) in Charleston, SC and did my graduate work in Rhode Island (Theology) and Ohio (City/Regional Planning). I LOVE to travel and have been known to just hop in my car and go to some random places on road trips at a minutes notice.
Just a random factoid about myself..I derive my comical skills from Ben Stiller, Christopher Walkin, and the animated characters from "Family Guy". HAHA!
Ohh...I do have all of my teeth too! :-)
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
I have been told that I am also a very passionate person...it comes from my artistic/musical background. If you look up the definition of "duende"...you will find a pic of me next to that definition. ;-)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Anything by Pat Conroy, Flannery O'Conner, C.S. Lewis, T.S. Elliot, Ratzinger, JPII, Chesterton, Umberto Eco. I have a HUGE library of books on theology, philosophy, design/architecture, cooking, fiction and historical stuff.
Movies:
Top Gun, The Goonies, Shawshank Redemption, Elf (and pretty much all Christmas themed movies!), The Last Emperor, The Last Samurai, Dumb and Dumber, Tommy Boy, Breach, O Brother Where Art Thou, Cold Mountain, Napoleon Dynamite, The Last King of Scotland, Hook, Pirates of the Carribean, Batman/Superman movies.....haha...I'm a dork.
Music:
Classical- J.S. Bach, Mozart, Vierne, Palestrina, Vivaldi, Vittoria, Beethoven, Haydn, Vaughn-Williams, pipe organ music (strange...i know!)
Rock- Led Zepplin, the SHINS, Blue October, Jump Little Children, Lynard Skynard, Billy Joel, Elton John, anything from the 80s.
Country- Johnny Cash, Josh Turner, Nickel Creek, Little Big Town, Sara Evans.
Indie- Regina Spektor, Mindy Smith, Kathleen Edwards, Keane, Fleeting Foxes, Shakira (not really Indie...I know).
HipHop/Soul- Alicia Keyes, Usher, Joss Stone, Beyonce
Jazz- Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Connick, Jr., Michael Buble, and Sinatra (The Chairman, baby!)
Food:
Southern (chicken, mashed potatoes, and greens!), Mexican, Italian, Indian (as in food of India), Middle Eastern, Cajun, German, French...and of course burgers, wings and pizza!
The six things I could never do without
2. laptop and internet
3. avocados
4. indoor plumbing
5. toliet paper (haha!)
6. my stereo/CD collection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Also, I spend a lot of time thinking how ironic it is that people who claim to be "free-thinkers" and open-minded...just also happen to be some of the most close-minded, intolerant people that I have ever met. For example, I am a Roman Catholic Christian...and some people think that Roman Catholics are intolerant and narrow-minded. Having a specific opinion about something (whether it be a faith/moral issue or whatever), does not mean that that person is narrow-minded...it just means that they have a differing opinion. Is that a crime???? I don't like anyone judging me because I freely choose to belive in Catholicism...just like I don't judge anyone who chooses to believe in nothing at all. I have many friends who are not Christian and that has never been a barrier in me respecting who they are or what they believe in. Respect is key in making this world a better place for everyone.
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
You should message me if
Don't message me if you are anti-Catholic, intolerant of other people's views/opinions, close-minded, don't bathe on a regular basis, or if you sound like a man. HAHA!
