Kind, intelligent professional who has lived in San Francisco for 20 years. Originally from the midwest (still have those values) but much prefer the West Coast. Born in Chicago and have lived in Colorado and Southern California. Very physically active, especially biking, and just generally love being outdoors.

I've traveled around a large part of this country and been to Europe, South and Central America and want to travel much more. It's pretty important to me to get to a locale with a warm beach at least once a year but would go more often if slightly prodded.

Intelligent people who can maintain my interest and challenge me to think about a variety of perspectives, particularly societal and political issues are a must in my life. I have a good core group of friends who do not suffer fools lightly! They keep me on my toes and don't let me get away with any crap.

I stay informed by reading the NY Times and Atlantic Monthly; watching PBS, Link TV and listening to NPR as sort of a base. Then I pick up what I can from other trustworthy sources.

I eat very healthy, fresh food and believe that good health is not to be taken for granted. I'm trying to become a better photographer by actually including people in my shots! I own all my clothes which range from jeans and t-shirts to formal wear.

Working very hard each day towards completing a large hospital project and seeking to find that something that will make me feel that I have made a real contribution to the world. I'm also seeking the woman that I can share the rest of my life with.

Talking with others about their interests. Riding bicycles. Remembering details about music that I enjoy. Staying in good physical condition. Maintaining my own integrity and that of my friends.

I'm in good shape and have a bald head. How do I know?

Fresh, healthy food. Foreign, heady films. Not much into blockbusters. Spike Lee, Woody Allen, Coppola, Almodovar, Demme are some favorite directors. Lots of music of all kinds but mainly jazz. Miles Davis, Coltrane, Shorter, Gordon, Metheny, DeadMaus, Massive Attack, Dylan, Cohen, Mitchell, The Roots, Mos Def, Marley and more. I appreciate and try to take in good art and other cultural happenings of our time. Need to make more time!
