My self-summary
Lessee ... I like the country life & live the values. Live in The Lower Snoqualmie Valley where the Seattle based news media come to take pictures of flooding. Having lived out there a long time, I and the rest of the long time residents just shake our heads at the "Crisis Reporting" the media does whenever it rains.

Own my own home, take care of 'the family house' out at the ocean. Going back to school to start a new career, work a lot of 'side jobs' for cash while I'm back in school full time.

Interests include:

cooking/grilling/BBQing/smoking (4 distinct cooking methods), not half bad on wilted spinach salad either.

Hiking and 5K walks for charities, when I can make the time. Every Fall City Daze in a kilt!

Home Repair and upgrades. Taking care of maintenance issues for the divorced females in the family so they don't have to pay the outrageous rates charged by repair ... persons.

Chilling to The Blues on Sunday evenings at the local club.

Playing with karaoke on Tuesday & Thursdays, trying to see if I can still sing.

Watching 'The Whiskey Girls' give line dance lessons on Wednesday nights ... what can I say, 'I'm a guy' to quote Brad Paisely.

Dancing I've been taking dance classes (swing mainly) during fall/winter/spring.

And I'm getting back into my automotive/motorcycle projects now that my back injury has healed up. Just picked up an older Harley-Davidson custom to refurb over the rest of the winter so I can start riding again next season.

I'm told I have more tools than Tim Taylor, at least I know how to use them. Constantly taking on projects to keep me from being bored I guess.

AND I DON'T DO VIDEO or ON-LINE COMPUTER GAMES!!!

I am learning again, enjoying life, and going for the gusto!

What I’m doing with my life
My son has completed college and supports himself these days. Now it's my turn to return to school for 'Green Technologies', mainly how to engineer sustainable green housing. Should take a couple of years to get the degree.

Spending a lot of time on the coast restoring family beach house. Lately been spending time on the coast just relaxing.

The Great White Killer Dog (now The Great White Mouse Catcher) has started me on a fitness program of walking every evening, she drags me at least 2 miles before getting home. And I'm wanting to start into light weight training workouts 2-3 times a week, all the cardio work I'm doing is great but Dr. Bill says I need to work on toning.

I'm still surprised that I made it past 35 so I'm getting more serious about my fitness lately, after all, cryogenic freezing may be able to preserve the body but I'm betting the mind/soul will get freezer burned.

and I'm still continuing to fill out my profile.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I haven't read anything but a technical manual of some sort in the last 20 years. And with going back to school I really don't see this changing in the next couple of years.

Movie - "Paint Your Wagon". I can identify with Ben Rumson, a tough 'old school' placer miner more intent on the hunt for gold (and staying away from civilization) than on finding 'The Mother Load' and settling down to mine it.

Music - I'll listen to most music, really enjoy mostly what I can sing or dance to, most of the crap that is fed to today's youth I don't consider anything but noise. Been playing with karaoke lately, been told I do Niel Diamond, Tony Bennet & Satchmo real well & turn out a respectable George Straight or Garth Brooks. And the guy that runs karaoke always wants me to sing Confederate Railroad's 'Trashy Women' at least once a night.

Food - I don't really have a favorite, I like it all!!! Unfortunately I like it too much which is why I'm on an exercise program. Unfortunately most recipes are designed for 4 servings and just don't taste right trying to make them for one person ... so I end up eating most of the 4 servings dammit!

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The wa-ay too many projects I have on my to do list. The latest being the refurbishment of an older custom motorcycle. And what bands are playing at the club over the weekend.

On a typical Friday night I am
I go to the local club in Fall City for dinner and socialization with people not from work. On a typical Sunday night it's back to that same club for the Sunday Night Blues Jam, such a nice way to end the weekend.

Or driving down to the beach house to do more work, at least I can get really good seafood on The Cranberry Coast. And since I'm down here so often the locals are starting to remember and recognize me as I come in.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It takes a 2 X 4 slapped upside my head for me to recognize someone making a pass at me.
