My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up in a very small farming community and don't expect the small town rural upbringing, say hi to everyone, to ever be beaten out of me. I am the first in my family to pursue college, and did such at the University of Virginia. I just finished up my coursework for my Masters in Teaching and am teaching college physics to high school seniors at a Community College. Things are looking pretty good!

I am very proud of my upbringing and my accomplishments. Because of this, I believe that life experience trumps anything a book can teach, and that we are all born with the same opportunity (to an extent). It is how we are brought up that teaches us our outlook on life. I love talking to everyone and there is always something to learn.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I originally did Astro-Physics and Mathematics undergrad, planning to do research, but I never really felt fulfilled by my work. I noticed that my time volunteering with students is what really drove me in life and that I never felt more intellectually stimulated than when working with students. I just finished my Masters in Teaching program at UVa and love working with my new students!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I definitely know my way around a telescope and the constellations. I can show you the stars, so cliché right :P I reckon I am a good at making science fun for kids, since I do so much of it. I also love and am pretty good at racquetball. Go club sports!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My outgoing personality; I'll talk to anyone. And height I reckon. I also have a loud laugh. I guess I know when I'm happy!

I grew up on country music so I am crazy about my country, but usually not this new pop country, tho it can have its moments! I like the transitional era between 1995ish to 2005ish. I have grown to like most any genera though, as long as the lyrics aren't ignorant. You cannot rhyme with the same word! Oh, and I would just like to point out that I am almost ashamed at myself, as a country music fan, because I like Taylor Swift's new take on what the genera country music means (the Red album, cough). Oh, and I have no shame for liking 1989. :P

On my list of favorite movies are: Singing in the Rain, Gran Torino, It's a Wonderful Life, The Seven Year Itch, The Pursuit of Happiness, Up, The Princess Bride, and Rain Man.

Shows: HIMYM and The Office are what I am going through at the moment.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My astronomy, sports, internet, friends, music, and my students!!!!!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life and what drives people to do the things they do. I try to keep an open mind to all walks of life and do not hold any life decision against someone.

"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one, just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had." -This is one of my favorite quotes (bonus if you know where it's from. It's really easy, so not too many).

Understanding one's own self is a crucial step to being open to others ideas and life outlook. Confidence in knowing yourself can bring about spontaneity, a quality that I believe makes life so much more worth living.

I also think a lot about why so many in the U.S. have joined the counter culture to learning and education itself; many before they even enter middle school. A key point in my life that directed me toward education was years back when I was working as a summer school math TA and a kid said to me something like, "I don't know why you try so hard to help me. They are going to pass me no matter what I do."

"We aspired to intelligence, we didn't belittle it, it didn't make us feel inferior." -Another favorite quote
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm going to miss doing Friday presentations at UVa's observatory but I'm excited for this new phase in my life and what its Fridays might bring :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been called out in the past for having man-crushes on Captain America and young Harrison Ford. Take that as you will, haha.
