I'm an idiot.
I recently graduated from college and moved to Cleveland to start
work as a manufacturing engineer. Haven't had a chance to meet many
people outside of work, and spending 50 hours a week with other
engineers (95% guys) is fun, but can get old at times. I love
live music and
really enjoy outdoor activities, photography, most movies, and
sharing a good drink (or ten) with friends. I try hard to not take
myself too seriously - life's too short to get stressed out about
the little things.
I guess you could say I'm still adjusting to life after college -
it's still odd not having all my closest friends within a 10 minute
walk of my apartment. Another adjustment is the paycheck; I've
gotta pay bills, but there's more I can do after that's taken care
of. So far I've probably spent too much on my car, a big ass TV,
and even managed to start getting into some savings plans.
The biggest thing I need to work on is balance. Not that I fall
over a lot, but I'd like to even out my time and commitments
between work and the rest of life. So far, I haven't found many
opportunities to do this yet, and I'd love it if you'd help me come
up with a few more ;)

My self-summary
What I'm doing with my life
Adjusting to life in the Cleveland area and my first full time job.
Not crazy about the location, but it's a great company and I hope
to grow with the organization. I'd love to work in our Australia
office if the opportunity arises!
I'm really good at
stuff...I think the better you get at something, the more you
realize you don't know about it. The things other people may see as
my strengths are probably the areas about which I realize there's
much more to learn (photography, cars, computers, welding, home maintenance, etc)
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
my height, probably. I'm 6'3", which is a bit taller than average.
apart from that, I'm left-handed - which often isn't noticed for a
while, but if you're a lefty, you'll pick it up right away. People
also notice that although I'm an engineer, I actually am capable of
carrying on an intelligent conversation about normal topics.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
engineering things, mostly. I also focus quite a bit on what
frivolous expense to pursue with the next paycheck. I also wonder
why Benjamin Franklin ever thought early mornings were a good
thing.
On a typical Friday night I am
either getting ready to go back to work on Saturday, or out with
some friends relaxing over a few drinks.

I fart in the shower sometimes...no, seriously though, if there's
something you'd like to know about me, just ask and I'll tell you -
I'm very open.
