My Self-Summary
I don't like people assuming things about me that I haven't told
them myself. I don't like writing about myself because I feel that
whatever I say will not be true. I am contradictory, though.
Sometimes I believe I do not really know myself and that is the real reason why I cannot write a self description. Other times, however, I find out that I change too often, so what was true about me a moment ago won't be true now.
I should be writing about the characteristics that make me me and that do not change. But I don't want to. You are going to have to meet me slowly, asking the right questions or just reading between the lines. Do not expect to experience me and understand all of me all at once. I have many layers.

What I’m doing with my life
I am a Ph.D. student, pretending to be a psychologist when I'm
actually a linguist with some knowledge on cognition. Sometimes I
wonder if I chose the wrong program. (Other times, I wonder if I
chose the wrong planet to be born in.)
I am also taking flamenco dance lessons. In case my life in academia does not work out, I will join the gypsies and dance and read the tarot. I do know how to read the tarot, by the way.

Metaphors We Live By by George Lakoff is not my favourite book, but I'm
glad he wrote it. I don't think I have read many books in the last
year, because I mostly read journal articles now.
My favourite movies are not good movies. I like romantic comedies that have Adam Sandler on it. I think my ideal partner would be played by Adam Sandler if there ever was a movie about his life. I know they are not awesome movies, but they cheer me up.
I listen to filk and folk rock and pop and country and cumbia. I can listen to Escape Key, Dar Williams, Shakira, Jo Dee Messina and Celso Piña in one same playlist.
I like chocolate. But I am not a fan of chocolate-covered fruit. Chocolate with almonds and chocolate-covered raisins are ok. You can bribe me with chocolate covered almonds and Danish cookies.
