My Self-Summary
My Lifes dream is to get myself into a position to make videogames, I went to school for it. My heroes include people like Cliff Bleszinski, Hideo Kojima, Will Wright, Richard Garfield, Shigeru Miyamoto, and Warren Spector.
Despite this, I don't really play that many games anymore. I'm currently playing Metal Gear Solid again for a paper I'm writing in my English class about a work of fiction that has impacted me, and how that impact applies to the larger culture of America. I'm also playing Final Fantasy 8 because I insanely decided that I was going to play all of the core Final Fantasy games in order. Even so I've put in about 15 hours total between these two games in the last two months and that's about it.
I laugh at just about everything. If I find something even remotely funny I laugh about it, even at awkward times, I just can't help myself.
If someone asks me about a subject that I know a lot about, I tend to provide them with much more information than they had wanted. I will ramble on endlessly about just about anything that I'm informed about until someone stops me.
People frequently tell me that I look like Zach Galifianakis, especially after The Hangover.
I strongly identify with Meursault from The Stranger/L’Étranger, and Holden Caulfield from The Catcher in The Rye.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movies: I like movies that are thought provoking, I like action movies, and I like really awful science fiction movies(we're talking sci-fi channel caliber) some of my favorites being American Psycho, Closer, Dirty Harry, Flash Gordon(1980), Cloverfield, Natural City, Ong Bak, Fight Club, Hero, Invasion of the Body Snatchers(1956), The Warriors, The Fountain, Legally Blonde, Momento, Primer, Trainspotting, Kill Bill, Saw, The Life Aquatic, Fugitive Alien, Alien, House of Flying Daggers, Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, and Blade Runner.
I listen to a very wide range of music, not quite everything, but plenty. My favorite genres of music are various flavors of Metal, Punk, and Hardcore. I'm also pretty fascinated by albums that have some sort of Narrative behind them, even though I find most of those albums to be really silly and trite. My favorite acts are X-Japan, Dissection, Ignite, Helloween, Anberlin, David Bowie, Aqua, The Smiths, Morrissey, Manticora, The Protomen, Katy Perry, The Get-Up Kids, At The Drive-In, Battlelore, Cartel, Cynic, Dark Moor, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jimmy Eat World, At The Gates, Lady Gaga, Joy Division, Further Seems Forever, Death Cab For Cutie, Iron Maiden, Orgy, Serenity, Sunny Day Real Estate, VNV Nation, and Zebrahead.
Food: I love trying new foods, and I'll eat anything at least once. I'm a huge fan of Ramen.
Comics: Grendel, Mage, American Virgin, Cable/Deadpool, DMZ, Local, Demo, and Fantastic Four.
Television: Who doesn't love Arrested Development? I'm currently watching How I Met Your Mother. I believe that the 90's are a golden age of canceled science-fiction television: Mantis, Nowhere Man, Space: Above and Beyond, Sliders, Strange Luck, The Pretender, Millenium, The Lone Gunman and so on. I also enjoyed Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, and Pushing Daisies.
Anime: I like shows about Giant Robots and tend toward anime that's aimed at an older male demographic(what's called Seinen). My favorites are Macross, Votoms, Berserk, Tekkaman Blade, and Zeta Gundam. I also go to Otakon just about every year. I'm also finally watching Code Geass which is pretty good so far.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I can change myself for the better
On a typical Friday night I am
maybe having a drink, watching some movies or playing games with friends.
