My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I caught the "save the world" bug back in high school and the last decade has been a crazy journey through political campaigns, deployments to Afghanistan and now trying to revolutionize America's healthcare system. Apart from my career, I love my friends like the family I never really had and I'm still pumped to finally be living in a city. Thanks to my Army experience I'm still very committed to being active so running and hiking are a huge part of my life. I'm just trying to keep life as exciting and meaningful as it was on the Obama 08 campaign and in Afghanistan because for me there's no other way to live.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently getting my MBA at MIT thanks to the generosity of the U.S. taxpayer via the GI Bill. I'm trying to get into healthcare management long-term but for now I'm just trying to catch up on all of the living that I missed while I was in the Army.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
These are in no particular order: telling nerdy jokes, running, organizing political activities (voter registration, phone banking etc), proofreading my friends' college papers, listening, getting lost when I want to and un-lost when I need to, teaching history/economics, shearing sheep (random, I know) and frisbee.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm one of the few cars in Somerville with both an Obama 08 and Afghanistan Campaign sticker.

Books: A People's History of the United States, The Goal, Guns, Germs and Steel, The Shock Doctrine, The Great Big Book of Tomorrow, The Scramble for Africa, The Silmarillion, What If?, Charlie Wilson's War, Descent Into Chaos, every James Michener book I've ever read.

Movies: Lawrence of Arabia, Accepted, History of the World Part 1, The Kite Runner, Restrepo, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Runaway Jury, The Producers, Love Actually.

T.V.: Marco Polo, House of Cards, The League, South Park, Archer, The Daily Show.

Music: Mashups (think DJ Earworm or Robin Skouteris), Boyce Avenue, Avicii, Tyler Ward, One Republic, Against the Current and random pop and country music. Yes, I know this isn't a hip answer but it's honest.

Food: I love Indian food above all else but I also like Afghan, Chinese and other Asian genres. However, having grown up on a beef farm, I can also appreciate standard American fare.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Some kind of larger purpose
2. Friends
3. Hope for a better future
4. Access to the news
5. Time to exercise
6. Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to make the world a better place while still earning a paycheck.

On a less grandiose scale I think a lot about how to get the most out of my life, be it in terms of adventures, memories or some other criteria.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Well, with my class schedule Thursday is the big social night so Fridays are usually open.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I didn't have much of a positive relationship with my parents growing up but I think I'm better off for it since it made me more independent and confident in the long run.
