A good story thrills me, and I sometimes find myself applauding an especially inspired moment even though I’m the only one within earshot. Some musical performances send tingles of pleasure through me. There have been theatrical moments when I’ve been transported into a sensory high. Some films have made me weep with joy.
I made an independent film years ago, but most of my artistic expression today is through writing. When a session is going particularly well, I can lose time for hours.
The day doesn’t end much better than sitting on the back porch with a trusted friend, drinking a glass of wine, sharing creative ideas, then retiring for mutual closeness. Getting to truly know someone through artistic expression is without comparison.
If you are artistically inclined in any capacity and are willing to share your thoughts, you will have my grateful attention.
I enjoy my professional work life, but my career work schedule makes me an early riser, which also means that I’m winding down for the day early in the evening. I expend a great deal of vitality during the day, so weekends are when you will find me to be the most “present.” Weeknights find me more contemplative, though still responsive.
The child in me is still alive, well, and doing fine. I bring him out to play whenever I have the opportunity. He loves magic.
