My Notes edit

My self-summary

I take pride in my geeky attributes. I go to Drexel for Digital Media, so I can do cool stuff like websites, make movies, 3D graphics, digital art, and all that fun stuff. I'm currently a grad student, as much as I complain about the place, I gotta admit, I enjoy it. I also have minors in Anthropology and Philosophy, which helps me get away from the computer screen.

I'm wearing a Geek t-shirt in one of my pics, so I guess it's just understood that I love Star Wars and Transformers, comic books, movies, studying ancient Rome (antiquity is awesome), Philosophy, learning about other cultures, videogames, nerd stuff et. al.. Artsy stuff, too, as long as they're not toooo snobby. First Fridays and occasional excursions to South Street are fun times. Trying to start a new government system for the US.

I've been getting a bit more into the center city bar scene recently, and by that I mean a couple nights a month. I have to spend money on food, you know.

And I'm not really a wine snob, but I know enough to tell a good bottle from a bad one.

What I'm doing with my life

Grad School. Writing my thesis. Lots of research. Trying to force Drexel to let me start my own PhD. Right now I'm working with social activist groups in the area to help communities promote awareness about social and economic issues Philadelphia neighborhoods are facing. This means I do a lot of research on politics, the press, and spend a lot of time working with community empowerment groups. And I love every minute of it.

I'm really good at

Coding, Photoshopping, 3D modeling, regular modeling, singing, Rock Band, speed-reading, writing papers, sleeping.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

My awesomeness?

I'm really not that cocky. I swear.

I'm smart. People notice it, it's kinda cool.

They also notice how terrible I am at Ultimate Frisbee.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Secret History, The Republic, The Politics, The Nicomedian Ethics, Harry Potter Series, Lord of the Rings, Augustus, Outlaws of the Marsh, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, The Republic, The Stranger, Myst, Calvin & Hobbes, The Brothers War

Movies: High Fidelity, Blade Runner, Star Wars (yes, even the prequels...), Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Clerks II, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Dogma, Pre-Generations Star Trek, Tron, Logan's Run, Transformers: The Movie, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Macross Plus, The Great Escape, Back to the Future, Gladiator, This is Spinal Tap

Music: Asia, Kansas, Cheap Trick, Boston, Foo Fighters, Chicago, Eagles, Wings, Paul McCartney, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Damn Yankees, KISS, David Bowie, The Who, Hall & Oates, Peter Frampton, Spinal Tap, Toto, Whitesnake, 70s Pop, 80s Pop, 90s Pop (well, I guess more accurately, anything pre-boyband 90s Pop.... Savage Garden ftw.), The Red Mages

The six things I could never do without

Food, water, other people, some sort of book, the stylus on my PC, paper.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

how to start a new world order. Grad thesis? Exactly how many stars there are in the universe. If I could fly. Wondering why I have the "less socially free" icon on my profile. Damned OKC profiling.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either at my apartment or out at a bar with friends? Videogames are probably involved.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I have a Return of the Jedi comforter on my bed, and my room in general looks like a 12 year-old's. Just a fair warning.

You should message me if

You find me interesting? You have no intention of killing me?
