My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a man of intense interests, fantastic fascinations and obscure obsessions.

My life is a constant battle between two parts of my brain. One which strives for order, stability, structure, bigger biceps, and a low carb diet. And another which yearns for freedom, spontaneity, intellectual stimulation, new microbreweries and all the awful sugary candy I can fit in my stomach.

Caught between those opposing forces, I've found an interesting middle ground. I've learned how to exercise my willpower when faced with tempation, and when to cut loose and enjoy an amazing moment when it may not come again.

Though sometimes, the sugary candy still wins.

I guess we're all just works-in-progress.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.

I work for Conestoga College in the School of Media and Design, mostly doing strategic planning and administration. I floundered for a while trying to find a career I truly love, and I think I finally found it. Better late than never! I get to use my brain and dress like a GQ model (note that I didn't say I actually look like one!) so what's not to like?

Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, consuming pop culture (movies, tv, anime, etc), reading fantasy/sci-fi novels and classic literature, and pursuing my personal quest of tasting every beer in the world. I have a feeling that last one will take quite some time, so no rush. I just started doing rec beach volleyball this year, and I enjoy kick boxing when time allows.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-Explaining complicated current events and putting them into an understandable context
-Playing "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon", or any other form of trivia

I'm getting better at cooking, but wouldn't put myself in the "really good" category just yet. I do make a mean bowl of chilli or bacon scallop chowder though!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I laugh a lot (sometimes at inappropriate moments). I love to have a good time, and making people feel good about themselves. You know that semi-funny anecdote you feel like you tell too often and start to regret saying it halfway through? Yeah, I'll almost certainly laugh at that.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Road trips
2. Drinks on the patio
3. Fresh sea food
4. Philosophical ramblings
5. Movies that shake your faith in reality
6. Beauty, in all its forms
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The ideas for novels I haven't written yet. So many ideas, so little motivation to actually write them. One day!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Ideally it's drinks and either movies or board games with friends. On Friday nights alone I'm usually on Netflix or trying to make a dent in the ever-growing pile of books I need to read and never have time for.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I own pajama pants featuring Animal from the Muppets... What? I'm not ashamed of it! I've got the Pillsbury Dough Boy too for that matter! You know you're jealous!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're a gal who likes a good conversation over a good meal, or a good drink. Who likes being active. And who knows the difference between an Orc and a Goblin (optional, but a big bonus!)
