My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
(I'll check this infrequently - life has become busy, and I'm off having adventures and launching new projects; time online is now a rarity! If you want to join in on random adventures and shenanigans, drop me a line and I'll send you my email and we can chat there!)

I'm living in the Boulder/Denver area and looking to make some new friends at home and afar!

About me: I'm a cheeky and lovable rascal with a flair for pizzazz, a penchant for adventure, and a knack for tinkering. I'm 6'2", I have green eyes, I'm the middle child of an Army family, I've traveled to five of the seven continents and am gleefully rubbing my hands at the prospect of visiting the last two, I'm ambitious and have a boundless passion for life, I'm geeky enough to play video games on occasion, have a passing interest in anime, I love learning, I'm an INFJ ambivert, I can hold (and value) intelligent conversation, I'm open-minded, I love dancing, I'm a spiritual person by nature, I'm on a constant quest for genuine people and genuine experiences, I speak three languages and can puzzle out two others, I'm adventurous, I throw heart, mind and soul into the things I'm passionate about, I have an amazing group of friends, I love tackling new projects, and I'm always looking for new friends to take on the world together with! And I'm great at run-on sentences.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
A little of this, and a little of that, and a lot of everything else! I live to support this quote:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

I tend to tackle random projects as temporary hobbies that I'll get really involved with for a while. Such things have included metalsmithing, using a forge I built in my backyard, the brewing of mead, the distillation of essential oils from native plants, indoor greenhousing, welding, sewing, stone-carving, aeroponics, sand art, robotics, programming, 3D animation, music-making, and rock-climbing. I tend to do a lot of the learning myself through experimentation and it becomes a great way of learning valuable life skills along the way.

Current projects: I'm currently embarked upon a quest to build a small business into a geek empire, working with resin-casting, 3D printing, laser cutting, metalworking, leatherworking, circuits, and fusing them all into making new things of all shapes and sizes. Ask me if you're curious to know more!

I also dabble a little bit in music: some keyboard, some violin, the occasional bowings on a cello, and the sweet sha-lah-lahs of acoustic guitar.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking, swimming, running, costuming, martial arts, kayaking, hacking Gibsons, mountain climbing, rock-climbing, logically debating, learning, burninating the countryside, inventing, philosophizing, solving three patch problems, 3D animation, spelling fhqwhgads, reading, writing, skiing, meditation, shenaniganing, cave-diving, smiling, laughing, math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries that all started with a Big Bang, speaking foreign languages, talking religion and politics, lacing my OkCupid profile with memes and obscure quotes, traveling, bear-blasting, writing user profiles, firing two guns whilst jumping through the air, adventuring, fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm tall, I tend to stick out in a crowd, I've got a goofy smile, I laugh often, and I'll probably make a terrible joke, pun, or reference that will (hopefully) be nothing short of endearing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I'm an avid consumer of books! I absolutely love reading and keep a well-stocked Kindle at full charge, as well as having a massive book collection. Some favorites:

a) Snow Crash, Lord of the Rings, Dune, The Art of Happiness, Fight Club or anything Palahniuk, Neal Stephenson, Paul Coelho, Vonnegut, Cormack McCarthy, or Neil Gaiman, Five Past Midnight, 1984, the Ender's Game series, Red Mars, The Web That Has No Weaver, The Agony and the Ecstasy, Kushiel's Legacy, American Gods, A Song of Ice and Fire, Choose Your Own Adventure Books!, The Sex Lives of Cannibals, the works of Jodi Picoult, the webcomics of Penny Arcade, Something Positive, and XKCD, Eat Pray Love, books by Carlos Castaneda, history books, etc.

b) The Matrix, Fight Club, 300, Avatar, Gattaca, The Princess Bride, American Beauty, The Goonies, Star Wars, The Notebook, Monty Python, Napoleon Dynamite, Braveheart, Hot Fuzz, Amadeus, Office Space, Stardust, Enchanted, The Last Unicorn, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Hero, Inception, Indiana Jones, Back To The Future, Donnie Darko, Neverending Story, Sin City...

c) Lots of singles here and there, Panic At The Disco, Goo Goo Dolls, Aquabats, The Pillows, 30 Seconds to Mars, Mogwai, Acoustic Eidolon, Rise Against, Keane, and I have an inexplicable, unfathomable devotion to Taylor Swift.

d) Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Thai, Indian, Indonesian, Moroccan, Ethiopian, Japanese, seafood...pretty much anything, really. I love to cook too, and love trying out new recipes. This is only aided by the fact I live near to a massive Asian grocery store.

I rarely turn on the TV, but I do watch series online from time to time! I'm a big fan of The Office, Grey's Anatomy, Rome, Heroes, Dollhouse, Firefly, Glee, Castle, Invader Zim, and anything Alton Brown does on the Food Network! That man is a god.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Bears. Beets. And Battlestar Galactica.

Or life, the universe and everything. I love understanding how things work in the world, be they physically, emotionally, spiritually, politically, everything! In my mind there's no such thing as too much learning. I'm a tinker and inventor by nature and I love learning random stories of history or facts of science. I'm chock full of random trivia and I often try to apply everything I learn to my life in some way, if only for variety. I love history, science, chemistry, philosophy, theology, biology, music theory, and so on. It's never a dull moment for the curious mind!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably out for a pleasure cruise at night, through eel-infested waters...

Or saving the cheerleader. Saving the world.

I'm all over the place on Fridays - hosting LAN parties, playing guitar on mountaintops at midnight singing with friends, doing board game nights, going dancing, surfing the web, frequenting the Chipotle in Boulder, watching movies or playing games, out dealing with our hoodie infestation, and finding new ways to enjoy Colorado. Lately I've taken to donning a half mask and giving vocal lessons in subterranean opera venues to rising starlets, but I'm always open to suggestions!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can turn tickets into diamonds, whilst being on a horse.

I played World of WarCraft zealously for a number of years and kicked the habit years ago. When I opened my bubble tea shop I actually kept a contingency plan and floor bully behind the counter in case of zombie attack, because I am *that* cool and prepared. I still have a crush on the girl I kissed in second grade, I watched every single episode of Sex and the City and dressed up to go see the movie. Judge not ;).

I'm a very optimistic person, but it's tempered below the surface with a keen eye for the reality of a situation. Objectivity is a pretty key part of my personality, even if in the end I just blow it off by choosing to believe the best and couple it with the resolve to bend situations to my will. Don't make the mistake of confusing optimism with naivety! I also tend to judge people by the questions they ask (or don't) as a way of assessing their open-mindedness, curiosity, and interest in what other people have to say. Asking a lot of questions wins points in my book.

I also have a secret hope that we'll have a society-ending apocalypse. I have a peculiar fascination with understanding every facet of what makes a society tick, so I'm chock full of otherwise useless information about things like irrigation techniques, water sanitation, chemistry, electrical circuits, legal and judicial systems, mining, refining, construction, farming, trade regulations, psychology, survival, defense, weather patterns, rope-making, cloth-making, medicine, nutrition, and so on, dealing with everything from individuals to whole communities. I harbor this secret fantasy that if the world ever goes to hell in a hand basket, I'll get to rebuild it up to an early Industrial Revolution era using my extensive knowledge.

Another secret fact - I can't resist redheads ^_^.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-I seem like an interesting person

-You want someone to talk to at random times during the day

-You are on a quest for the genuine or the extraordinary

-You think that the movie Knights of Badassdom is going to rock

-You want a new friend

-You want someone to share interests or to explore with

-You are, or are anything *like* Kim Possible (or Kaylee from Firefly)

-You have been exposed to GC-161

-You are a Girl Who Reads (http://littlemissdorkette.tumblr.com/post/3118512524/date-a-girl-who-reads-by-rosemarie-urquico)

I'm friends with just about everyone. *However*, the people I keep truly close to me are the people that push me and teach me new things and think drama belongs in the theater, not in personal life. I tend to judge people by the questions they ask (or *don't* ask), and I really want people to interact with, not just to voice opinions back and forth with. I stay pretty busy but I love spending time with people - I just never seem to have enough time to do everything. I thrive on growth and change and love it as a steady part of my diet - if you're the same, please message me! I'm mostly on here as a means to make new friendships and for finding those people who are also looking for adventures, so please feel free to contact me!
