Your Notes
Edit your notesI am authentic, humorous, creative, and cuddly.
My Self-Summary
I’m a student of how the world works. I like finding the
patterns in things, and comparing them to the patterns in other
things.
I’m an “escape artist,” trying to live an authentic life
in which there’s always something to celebrate, nothing is worth
getting stressed over, and every day is treated like a holiday, no
matter what I’m doing.
I am a healer and a dancer between worlds. I listen to the
voices in my head. I am empathic, strongly so with a select
few.
By day, I am a mild-mannered tech writer for a major metropolitan software
company. By night I entertain, amuse, and delight audiences near
and far. In my “copious free time, I’m an organic gardener, Reiki master, and aspiring
Tantrika.
I’m an introvert who plays an extrovert on stage and on
YouTube.
I value honesty
and authenticity, creativity, humor, personal responsibility, and a
positive attitude. I keep any commitments I make – if I say I’m
going to show up at 2 PM on Thursday, I’m there somewhere between
1:55 and 2.
Love is a verb, and intelligence is the ultimate
aphrodisiac.
Emotional baggage is limited to one suitcase plus a carryon. No
hazardous waste.
I’m polyamorous by nature - *capable* of loving more than one
person at a time, whether I'm doing so at the moment or not. I'm
willing to be flexible about that in a really serious primary
relationship - if we're right together, then we'll co-create the
relationship that fits for us.
I read voraciously. Books, magazines, the backs of cereal boxes; nothing is safe.
Being outdoors is good, but when it's really wet and windy, there is wisdom in watching it from indoors next to a welcoming fire.

What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
a) Anything by Spider Robinson, lots of science fiction and fantasy, gardening books; metaphysics, especially Richard Bach, Sun Bear, and Dan Millman; personal growth, too many others to name. I read the backs of packages when there aren't any books in reach. "I gave my books their own room; now they want the rest of the house."
b) Casablanca, Princess Bride, Chicken Run, Play it Again Sam, Star Wars IV and VI, Star Trek IV and VI, and the new one, Galaxy Quest, LOTR, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Where the Buffalo Roam, Koyaanisqatsi, Serenity, Emerald Forest, Dances with Wolves. I'm about ten years behind on movie/video watching - wanna come over and help me catch up?
c) Jimmy Buffett, Jim Morrison, ELP, classic rock, contemporary country (at least some of it), contemporary folk, Bach, Beethoven, Sunny Jim White, my own (www.lorendavidson.com) :)
d) sushi! Italian, Mexican, almost anything but Thai & Vietnamese.
TV: Things like Stargate, also Mythbusters, the Weather Channel, HGTV, Babylon 5, CNN.
The six things I could never do without
A good library or bookstore
Someplace to walk
Someplace to garden
Touch and companionship
My sense of humor
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
Typical? What's that?
If I'm home, either I've got company or I'm watching something
involving science fiction on that cable channel with the funky new
name.
If I'm out, I might be playing a gig, watching friends play a gig, or being social in some other way.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
You should message me if
Spammers/scammers: Don't bother. This is not my first week on the Internet. Really. And stop filling my mailbox with your "Favorites" requests too. Not. Interested. Period.
If you'd be interested in being pampered, but not spoiled. If you are exceptional and empathic, and looking for the same.
If some of what I say appeals to you, makes sense to you or sounds like something you could have written.
If you already know me and want to say hi, if you think I might be worth knowing, if you know how to communicate effectively and authentically.
If you're relatively local and looking for interesting, intelligent, stimulating conversation or a fun time out at some local place listening to my live music and hanging out with my friends and fans.
Update 10/26/09:At the moment, open to friendships and common interests only, as my romantic plate is rather nicely full. :)
