I moved to Seattle about two month ago all the way from DC and I'm loving it so far. Looking to keep meeting new people and discovering new places. I love to have adventures, whatever form they might take. Some adventures I've had include:
-hiking on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
-driving hours through a blizzard to see U2 in Kansas City.
-flying off my bike through the air, landing face-first into the Reflecting Pool in DC in front of a crowd of onlookers.

So yeah, about me. I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in literature and creative writing. I have an awesome job and am lucky enough to make a decent living at it. I'm a bit of a fitness nut and slog it out in the gym around five days a week.

Travel is a passion of mine and I need to do it more once I find a good partner. I've been to China, Italy, the UK, and Peru.

I love culture. Whether it's literature, art shows, weird documentaries and independent movies, or anything else interesting and entertaining.

Although it takes up a lot of my time these days, I have a seriously sweet job that's the envy of guys and the young at heart everywhere. It's the kind of thing kids grow up saying they want to be, but then get sidetracked and end up as insurance agents or cement salesmen or whatever. Guess it and I'll buy you a drink :) Hint: pew pew pew! Also I do lots of active investing on the side and really enjoy it.

Getting amazing tickets to in-demand events. I've had fifth-row tickets to U2, second row tickets to Ben Folds, third row seats at Evanescence, and front row seats to Kanye West (yeah he's annoying, but hey it was a fun show!). Also like to think I've got a good sense of humor and a good nature overall. I'm good at laughing at myself, not scared to look silly, and like to find the fun side of any situation.

My funny and sarcastic nature usually, along with the fact that I like to smile a lot. Hopefully (if I've recently done laundry!) they notice that I like to pay attention to what I wear and try to always have a sense of style in what I do.

Books: Anything by Murakami, James Joyce, and David Sedaris. Love reading on my Kindle!
Movies: Dr. Strangelove is the all-time greatest. "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!" Love indie flicks and cool documentaries.
Music: Love a huge variety. Currently listening to AFI's new album, and looking to go see Moby and Passion Pit. Been to see everyone from U2 to Kanye West in concert.
Food: Love love love sushi and most asian foods. Also love fine dining and have a goal to eat at the top restaurants in the city.

My cat - Love my cat and she's been a friend to me through lots of tough times.
My plasma - Anything below 42" just doesn't cut it anymore :)
My morning coffee - The coffee shops around my place are awesome - Uptown Espresso and Espresso Vivace. Worst case, we have one of those Starbucks machines in the office that grinds the beans for you on the spot. Hooray!
My gym schedule - Kind of a fitness nut and love to hit the gym in the mornings. Gives you great perspective on your day when you start it underneath 250lbs.
New things - I am always trying to branch out and have new experiences, whether it's trying new food or going to new places or meeting new people. It's important to keep things fresh.
My sense of humor - as I've mentioned, laughter is the best medicine.

As cheesy as it sounds, I think a lot about how I can improve myself and the people around me. I'm not comfortable being self-centered, or even with having lots of attention on me, so I find I'm happiest when everyone around me is at their happiest as well. This is why I would never make it as a conservative.

Out with friends as often as possible. Usually that involves a happy hour or dinner at a restaurant. Sometimes I'll go out to cool bars, usually more of the quieter sit-down types. But occasionally it is fun to go out to the crazier mosh-pit places and dance my ass off. If you can get me out dancing, so much the better.

I really really like Harry Potter and can't wait for the next movies.

What I'm looking for:
-Wit and intelligence. Backbones are hot. If the rest of you is hot, that would be awesome, but those two things trump looks any day.
-Following on that, if I see one more person looking for "my partner in crime" I'm going to spit. What does that even mean? :)
-Someone who takes care of themselves. I don't need a fitness model but I'm attracted to active people. I feel like kind of a tool saying that but I don't want to waste anyone's time.
-Someone who can be straight with me. I've been in enough relationships to know that honesty is the best policy, and that leaving someone hanging isn't cool.
-Liberal or open-minded centrist politically. I won't get along with staunch conservatives. This was probably a bigger issue in DC than in Seattle :)
-Girls who dance are very sexy. I'm not that great of a dancer, but I'm happy to try and get better.
-Someone without cat allergies, or who doesn't mind popping claritin for me. I've known my cat longer than you and she has claws, so she wins.
