The Perception Personality Image Test

So, I just took this test: http://www.okcupid.com/quizzy/take?id=7592751854911869389

And the result is surprisingly accurate:

"You perceive the world with particular attention to humanity. You focus on what's in front of you (the foreground) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the shapes around you. Because of the value you place on humanity, you tend to seek out other people and get energized by being around others. You like to deal directly with whatever comes your way without dealing with speculating possibilities or outcomes you can't control. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You prefer a structured environment within which to live and you like things to be predictable."

I wonder if this is one of those things like horoscopes where that description sounds accurate to everyone who reads it or what. It seems to fit me nearly perfectly.

Normally, I don't pay much attention to these tests for that reason - they are just generic, but I'm oddly interested in the result of this one. I guess that's also partly because when I was taking the test, some of the answers seemed so obvious. I was thinking "Well, surely everyone would pick this answer." I wonder how true that really is, though.

If anyone else wants to take it and comment on it, I'd be interested to see what you have to say about it, for sure. Just post your comments here or something where I can read them.

(I'm aware that this post contains some terrible writing and grammar. Sorry about that. I was just trying to bang it out real quickly while at work.)

How often is your behavior motivated by the need to be different?
  • All the time. Who wants to be normal?
  • Sometimes
  • Never. I strive to fit in.
You know, I'm getting a little tired of questions with answers that set up a false dichotomy. Take this question for example. I rarely behave the way I do because I am motivated to "be different". I frequently do behave "differently" than the average person around me but not because I actively attempt to do so. I'm just being myself - and I can be an unusual guy sometimes.

So, the correct answer for me would be something close to "never". But look at the way they phrased it. "Never. I strive to fit in." Well, that's certainly not true. Just because I don't actively attempt to "be different" does not mean that I'm actively trying to "fit in". It's a false dichotomy. There is no correct answer to this question for me and so I must skip it.
