My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I don't always know what to say. I probably have answers to questions you never asked. I'm the planner of the friend group. I like to treat myself and everyone I know to a good time, when I can. I like quiet bars with good beer. I appreciate the mountains and wilderness. I consider myself a conversationalist, but more often than not, I suffer as a writer with a social life.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working just about seven days a week. Cozy state job, semi-professional brewery every Tuesday morning, and bartender on weekends. I write for a few publications, mainly about beer. If you're into craft beer, we should talk.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making complicated ideas understandable. Enunciating. Making people laugh. Bringing people around to my point of view. Couponing. Stoking the fire. Hanging out with animals. Writing. Cooking chicken cutlets.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Eyes, and/or hair. The tattoo of a road sign on my leg.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: The Power Broker, Master of the Senate, Nixonland, Manufacturing Consent, anything political/current events without a right-wing slant. (Fuck you, Ann Coulter.) I'm kind of obsessed with the 1960s. I also read far too many books about peak oil and environmental collapse. On the non-fiction side, I loved the Song of Ice and Fire series and I'm anxiously anticipating book 6. I have a raging hard on for Walt Whitman, Ralph Waldo Emerson is my soul-mate and Hemingway is the manliest man that has ever lived. I took an entire class on The Great Gatsby. Please, let's discuss.

Movies: Jurassic Park, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, The Prestige, The Shawshank Redemption, Star Wars, Collapse, Thank You For Smoking, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Fargo, forget it, anything Coen Brothers. There's a lot. I'll leave it at that.

TV: I watch far too much HBO (True Detective, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Girls, Real Time with Bill Maher and any of their Docudramas.) I grudgingly turn to CNN for my news, although I'd rather watch the BBC but can never find the right channel. I also love the Daily Show and Colbert. Pawn Stars is usually on when I'm at the gym. Oh, and Mystery Science Theater 3000 is the funniest show ever made.

Music:The Beatles, Sufjan Stevens, The Black Keys, Cold War Kids, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Harlem Shakes, Neutral Milk Hotel, Billy Bragg/Wilco, et. al.

Food: I love good BBQ, good pizza, and well-made tomato sauce. I'm a beer connoisseur, and if you can keep up with me on the beer knowledge, I'll love you forever.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A book to read, a car to drive, a map to consult, my sense of sight, intelligence, and beer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How things fit together. Good answers to good questions. My role in things, and how they play out.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out at a bar with friends, in watching Bill Maher, or planning my next big weekend outing. Potentially also too tired to do anything as I spent the day hiking.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've never seen "The Goonies."

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to go hiking sometime. If the idea of cliff jumping doesn't sound too crazy to you. If you can quote Anchorman. If you appreciate good company and good conversation. If you like good beer. If you keep it classy. If you don't mind getting taken to dinner on a first date.
