Your Notes
Edit your notesI am eclectic, eccentric, and electric.
My Self-Summary
I've changed a lot over the past few years. I used to be a typical anti-social geek, sitting at home playing video games. Now, I'm still a geek, but I'm a lot more social. I tend to be the "organizer" among my friends, always the one asking if folks want to do stuff. I set the times, the dates, and then we all go out and succeed brilliantly at whatever we were trying to do. At least, that's what I tell myself.
I just got my basic SCUBA license. I had never really thought about getting it until I had the opportunity, and I definitely don't regret it. It was a lot of fun, and I hope to find a dive partner somewhere and head over to the various lakes around here. Scuba diving is a lot of fun, especially if you have a good teacher.
I also got a telescope a few months back and I've been loving it. I can see the rings of Saturn clearly, gas bands on Jupiter, craters/mountain ranges on the moon... and I just tracked the International Space Station a few nights ago as it went overhead! I could even see the solar panels. It was amazing.
I suppose this isn't a very good self-summary, but, well... Eleanor Roosevelt said that "trying to define yourself was like trying to bite your own teeth". She's a lot smarter than I am, so I think I'll take that advice to heart and shut up now!
What I’m doing with my life
I've had a few people ask if the first part is true. Turns out, it is; I have my dream job, working on the flight software for the Orion spacecraft, the upcoming (hopefully) replacement for the Space Shuttle. The second part is true only if you include my deranged schizophrenia in your definition of "true".
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I read a lot. Most people pick good stocks for investments, but my Barnes & Noble membership card is my best purchase ever...
b) Serenity, Demolition Man, Much Ado About Nothing, Top Gun
c) Anything by Nightwish, Within Temptation, Therion, Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, and a lot of classical stuff too. Nightwish's new album is great.
d) Stuff that can be microwaved :-) Like Chinese food, for example. Other than that, I'm not picky.
e) All hail the Hypno-Toad. Also, Arrested Development. And Firefly, Rome, SG-1, Atlantis, Deadwood, Farscape, Babylon 5... the list goes on and on. DVD sets are great.
The six things I could never do without

On a typical Friday night I am
(No, I'm not literally at Rocky Horror showings every Friday night. While I'm a fan of the show and like going to it every once in a while, I'm not one of those.)
