I'm married to Ravelijne. It's a polyamorous relationship where she currently has relationships with several people. Polyamory means being open to having more than one relationship, with the full knowledge & consent of all parties involved. At this moment I'm not sure whether I want multiple relationships myself. But I would like to make friends who understand this lifestyle.

My self-summary
I'm married to Ravelijne. It's a polyamorous relationship where she currently has relationships with several people. Polyamory means being open to having more than one relationship, with the full knowledge & consent of all parties involved. At this moment I'm not sure whether I want multiple relationships myself. What I'm doing with my life
I'm really good at
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My favourite movies (in chronological order) include: 'The Great Dictator' (1940), 'Citizen Kane' (1941), Seven Samurai (Shichinin no Samurai) (1954),'Bladerunner' (1982) 'The Dark Crystal' (1982), 'The Last Unicorn' (1982), 'Kaze no tani no Nausicaa' (1984), 'Enemy Mine' (1985), 'The Princess Bride' (1987), 'Good Bye Lenin!' (2003), Serenity (2005), 'Little Miss Sunshine' (2006), 'Das Leben der Anderen' (2006). This list is far from complete, but I think you get the gist of it. :)
My taste for music is about as eclectic as my taste in books and movies. As a rule, I like songs which tell a story. At the moment I listen a lot to Seanan McGuire's Album 'Stars Fall Home' and recently rev_dr_ace got me hooked on Gaia Consort (new name: Bone Poets Orchestra), but my iPod is also home to earlier work of David Bowie, the sound track of 'Noir' by Kajiura Yuki, and a several songs from Within Temptation and Nena. Other than that, it's usually filled up with the podcasts and audiobooks mentioned above.
Food is a wonderful thing, and I like to try many different things. I prefer spicy food, and have an soft spot for Wasabi. When eating out, Japanese, Thai and Sechuan food are high on the list. When cooking at home, I try to make sure that at least 80% of the ingredients are organic. In my experience it just tastes better, and it's more nutritious, which means you need less of it.
The six things I could never do without
- My computer. It's my source of entertainment, income and communication. I spend way too much time on it.
- Books. As a child I would read 2 or 3 books a day. Nowadays I'm happy if I get to read one at all. In lieu of a book I will read anything that I can lay my hands on. This has given me an astounding amount of trivia.
- A sense of wonder. Children see everything as new and shiny. When adults forget how to do this; dreariness ensues.
- Stories. It's a thread through my choice of books, music and movies. I love stories, and have a deep respect for people who can capture the imagination of their audience and carry it of on a tale of adventure.
- Geekery. I prefer it if people are passionate about something. I might not share their particular passion, but to me, few things can compare to the joy and energy of two geeks talking about their interests.
- Tolerance. Many people see tolerance as disinterest. I don't think that's right. To me tolerance is the willingness to recognise and respect the beliefs and practices of others. Granted, this is a difficult line to follow. The beliefs and practices of some people are rather extreme. In a nutshell, my limit to tolerance is tolerance itself. Once someone cannot tolerate other peoples beliefs, or start forcing their beliefs on others, they quickly start losing brownie points.
