My self-summary
The name is a fairly accurate, bare bones summary. I am a geek, nerd, outcast who loves spending time with other such people. I picked up my first video game in 3rd grade and have been loving them ever since. I love a good story or well written characters and it colors much of my taste in much of my other hobbies and interests (games, movies, books, meeting new people). I am a thinker and a dreamer, but will jump head first into social situations just to prove to myself I can.
What I’m doing with my life
A good question I ask of myself every now and then.

Currently I am working in a Nonprofit company helping clients living with mental disabilities with vocational training and experience to help them get back on their feet and getting a job. Nifty job, but not what I want to be doing my whole life.

Eventually I would like to own a home with an actual yard, a car from this century, and a job that could be called a career.
I’m really good at
Picking up the rules to new and interesting games, socializing in new and strange places, learning quickly and lending an ear when its needed.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am a very good listener, I don't like to judge people and prefer to see a big picture in any problem. Physically I am a big guy, and somewhat shy about it. I am my own worst critic, but then again so is most every other person so not much to notice there.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Name of the Wind, A Wise Man's Fear (looking forward to Rothfuss' third book in that series), The Sand Man series, The Walking Dead and assorted comic books

Favorite movies: LotR, Harry Potter, Evil Dead series, 5th Element, Aliens, Predator, Serenity, Star Wars (the original three), Legend, Labyrinth, Willow, Zombieland, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (the original) and any horror movie I can watch and make fun of with friends.

Do web comics count too?
If so: Penny Arcade (plus Trenches), Ctrl + Alt + Del, GU Comics, VG Cats, Blasternation, Chimney Speak, The Devil's Panties, Questionable Content, Awkward Zombie, Saturday morning Breakfast Cereal, Nerf This, Darths & Droids, Girls with Slingshots, Zombie Hunters, Something Positive, Hijinks Ensue, and that list will probably keep growing

Shows: Dr. Who, Torchwood, South Park, Archer, Tosh.0, Family Guy, House, Penn & Teller's Bullshit, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Walking Dead, Eureka, Sherlock, The Guild

Music: various artists and various genres, numerous soundtracks to movies that catch my fancy. Having said that I am horrible when it comes to music knowledge, I don't know trivia about bands, genres or anything related to music. If I like how it sounds to me I pick it up and that's as far as my know-how goes heh.

Food: I'm pretty open minded about trying anything once
The six things I could never do without
My Friends, Video Games, RPGs (be it pen & paper or other), Family, A clean space to call my own, board games of various sizes and complexity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Random assortment of things that find their way into my head. As I have said, I am a bit of a day dreamer when left to my own devices.

I like thinking about my future, where I am going and what I still need to do to get there. I do this for relationships I am in or starting, jobs I'm working and hobbies I enjoy.

Finally, I think about stories. Tales of various themes and moods, I think about what elements to add or use if I were to turn that story into a game, I think about the characters if I was just going to jot the story down, or I just laugh to myself if its funny enough and no one around to share it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends to play some games at the local hobby shop, or going to see a movie that looked just interesting enough to warrant the 20+ dollars to see it on the big screen. If none of the above, then at home relaxing, cooking, gaming or watching a bad horror movie with my roommate so we can crack jokes the entire way through.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Despite the degree and ability to listen, I am terrible at being able to connect to people sometimes. Certain social situations terrify me and that is when I try to be my most outgoing, preferring to go out in a blaze of glory so to speak, rather than simply fade out in my own little corner.

I am also not the easiest to get a read on. I like to hide behind humor and bullshit because I have a habit of expecting the worst. I don't come out with whats on my mind unless I've given it a good thinking over and that can sometimes come off as cold or uncaring.
You should message me if
You have an interest in getting to know a gamer with a geeky sense of humor who tries to have an open mind about life. Storytelling and gaming are a big part of my joy in life and would enjoy the company of someone with similar interests.
