I'm a former teacher currently saving and working to go back to school to do more interesting things (like research! So exciting!). I care more about details than the big picture sometimes. I'm a huge language geek and I will fight someone over a misused apostrophe.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working while trying to keep my brain as ready as possible for going back to school. I occasionally use Latin in everyday life, because it's a fun language once you invest a decade into it.
I’m really good at
Telling jokes. Except all of my jokes are awful puns.
The first things people usually notice about me
They probably hear me first. I tend to get excited and loud, but that's what happens when you care like I do.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Everybody likes superhero movies, but television has some of the moments that harken back to the old comic books. The new Flash series might have made me cry already, but I'm not telling. I read some good stuff (and by that I mean boring histories of language), but too often it's just filler. I'm trying to use my phone as a tool for reading more books instead of just garbage on the internet.
The six things I could never do without
Netflix obviously, because everyone needs basic sustenance and that stuff is better than food and water.
My phone, because Google makes me sound a whole lot smarter than I am.
My education and the things I carry from it, because sometimes I don't give myself enough credit.
A reliable pair of blue jeans, because I grew up in Tennessee.
Puns, because they are the simplest and most pure kind of jokes.
A good sense of direction mixed with an unfortunate tendency to swap right and left. Keeps me on track with a little bit of excitement in my life.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
When I'll finally hop up and go somewhere far away to see if it's anything like here.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, but when I'm free I'm probably driving to see a friend or watching Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cry when I watch Independence Day.
You should message me if
You want to hear a really bad joke.
