I am funny, smart, and a little geeky.

My Self-Summary

Who am I? In a grand sense, just a guy who wants to find his way to leave the world a better place than he found it, hopefully with someone great by his side.

In a somewhat less "what are we here for" sense, I love a variety of music, and enjoy going out to concerts, as well as the occasional club. I know guys aren't supposed to, but I do love to dance and just have stupid fun sometimes. My favorite genres tend to be more of the punk/metal/metalcore/screamo/etc. varieties. I play guitar albeit I haven't been able to practice much in quite awhile, so I'm probably terrible at it right now. I'm a big movie buff, and love pretty much any kind, especially something I've never heard of.

As my name indicates, I am somewhat geeky, although I don't really think I could be labeled as a geek. I play video games, know about computers, watch documentaries, read the occasional comic, and could probably have a long conversation about zombies, but that's about as far as it goes. I also do Krav Maga, the Israeli self-defense system. It's a great way to get into shape, learn to kick some major ass at the same time, and is immensely fun.

I'm a pretty sarcastic guy, and tend to be the type of funny based on acerbic one-liner. I love it when a single sentence can make someone laugh for minutes. I'm a pretty smart dude, but I have a habit of not acting like it at all, but when appropriate, I can bust it out.

I'm from Detroit, MI originally, and have been here in Memphis for about a year. I'm truly a Yankee at heart, and feel somewhat out of place here. I've even had people say they can't understand my accent.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I'm working in medical and dental instruments at UTHSC, but I'd really like to go into the military or law enforcement, and am working feverishly to prepare for that.

I’m really good at

being funny, or at least that's what my friends and family say, although to be honest, sometimes I just don't see it.

The first things people usually notice about me

is probably that I'm a really tall and mean looking dude, when really, I'm only slightly mean on the outside, with a chewy nice center filling. I'm still tall though.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My top 5 (in no particular order), all time, desert islands are as follows:

Books: jPod by Douglas Coupland, Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy, Microserfs by Douglas Coupland, and Rant by Chuck Palahniuk. An honorable mention goes to I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell.

Movies: Boondock Saints, Green Street Hooligans, Equilibrium, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Black Hawk Down. High Fidelity is an honorable mention.

Musical genres: Metal-y things as indicated above, indie rock, hip-hop, blues, and nerdcore.

Bands/Musical Artists: Throwdown, The Decemberists, MC Lars, Killswitch Engage, and Death Cab for Cutie. Breaking Benjamin also should be on here, but I can't figure out who to displace.

As for food, I'm pretty picky.

The six things I could never do without

1. My best friends
2. Music
3. iPhone/whatever becomes the next leap in technology along that line
4. Movies
5. Wit
6. Books. Well, books or sex. One of the two. Okay, if I'm being truly honest, it's probably sex, but books are a somewhat close-ish second.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

how to achieve my goals, and what exactly to do with my life. Not just career wise, but in a larger sense, wondering about marriage or things of that nature.

On a typical Friday night I am

out at a show, or a low-key bar if I'm not too wiped from work. Or possibly just chilling at home.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

That zombie conversation above? I've had it.
