My self-summary
I am hoping to find a new companion, best friend & lover, (& hoping I can be that for you)!

I'm a good person. I have strong communication skills, & can be very supportive. I can also be a very good friend to someone I care about. Once I learn to trust you, I am good at being present, appropriately vulnerable & sharing my feelings.

I'm looking for openness, honesty & total trustworthiness, & offer the same. I really want to be with someone who is both physically & emotionally available to participate in a relationship

Fun & enjoying each other would be pretty wonderful, too!

Bottom lines in addition to the above are no smokers, no recreational drug users, & either non or VERY LIGHT drinkers.

It's also very important to me that we like & respect each other for who we both already are today. I consider it silly to date someone for "their potential", in hopes they will love the other enough to change.

Mutual communication is extremely important to me. I want to know my partner & I want to be known.

My favorite things to do include music, movies, being with my cats, talking, cuddling, making love & anything to do with the Ocean/Beach.

I like going out to eat, watching live music, spending time with friends, vacations, walking on the beach & getting out in general & spending time at home with (hopefully) my future significant other & my cats.

Definitely willing to try new things (your interests) too.

I'm politically pretty far left. I have been wanting to get involved with something(s) that would make our world a better place for the people (& animals) that live here & in an ideal world would strip all power from the corporations.

Though my life has been totally focused around my business from 1998-around 2012; I really prefer having fun to working. I was a professional musician off & on in my 20's & 30's & those were the happiest times of my life.

I am 58 years old, 5'9", Aprox 220 pounds. Those pictures are 2 years old, I have gained some weight & lost some hair on top since they were taken.

For those into Briggs-Meyer, I am an INFJ & that seems pretty accurate. I tend to intuit answers rather than research them.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been self employed with a home based internet business since 1998. Been going through a lot of changes the last couple years, due to the business largely failing & a series of losses.

I spent many years in in 12 step recovery (26 years with no chemical or alcohol relapses). I also do paid (Tech) work on the world level for a 12 step group as my 2nd job

Lots more stuff I do enjoy & will enjoy doing with my life than just the above!

The short version is that my goals are
1. Health
2. Enough $'s to pay the bills
3. Happiness
4. Love
5. Dealing with bureaucracies without totally losing it!

Finding that mythical fountain of youth &/or winning the lottery would be pretty cool too!
I’m really good at
Getting along with Felines
Computers (I'm great at cleaning (mostly other people's) viruses, lol!)
Problem solving - helping to find a solution that works for all
Honoring Commitments/Being Accountable
I have a good sense of humor
Being Open & Honest
I'm intelligent
Being respectful & considerate
Can have a high level of positive intensity & affection with the right partner.
Seeing both sides of an issue (well except for politics..)
Willing to admit when I'm wrong (though it may take a day or 2!)
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't have a clue. My sadly thinning, long hair?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Sci-Fi, some history, biographies, self help & film/music books. Currently reading a Jules Verne Anthology. I'm also good at writing short factual articles & reviews.

Movies: Silent German Expressionism, "Art" Films, Classic Horror, Intelligent Drama, Cult, Early USA Pre Code (before mid 1934), Noir. Last movie I saw in a theater: Dark Shadows (I thought it was hilarious, but as you can tell, I don't get to theaters very often!). Currently watching a lame horror movie called The Darkness.

My favorite modern actor is Johnny Depp. If I had to pick a fav modern actress it would probably be Franke Potente. My fav classic actresses include Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, & Brigitte Helm. Fav classic actor is Edward G Robinson, along with James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Lon Chaney Sr, Bela Lugosi & Boris Karloff.

Fav current directors are Woody Allen & Tim Burton. Fav classic directors (mostly non USA) are Ingmar Bergman, FW Murnau, George Pabst, Fritz Lang, Andrei Tarkovsky, Rainer Werner Fassbinder & Carl TH Dreyer.

Shows: If by shows you mean TV, awhile back I discovered a wonderful Australian drama series, "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries". Breaking Bad was a "guilty pleasure" (& I started watching the related "Better Call Saul"), but that's about it other than the weekly Seahawks game in the fall & winter.

Music: I am a former professional Musician, & LOVE music. I prefer a combination of emotion AND talent. I like intelligent classic rock, singer song-writers, progressive rock, jazz (especially classic; I'm a Duke Ellington fan), some alternative rock, country ROCK, some accessible non traditional folk, instrumental classical (I hate opera) & lots more. Some of my fav artists at the moment are Lisa Loeb, Ani DiFranco, CSNY, Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree, Grateful Dead, Jack Bruce, Joni Mitchell, Frank Zappa, Wishbone Ash & David Bowie. High quality audio systems have been a hobby for many years. While there are a few newer artists I like, I've done a pretty poor job of keeping up with most new artists this century. (I REALLY like Adele, though, & recently discovered Transatlantic & Anathema). Lately I've been on a Jack Bruce & Cream kick. Last cd I played was from the Steve Hackett box.

I DON'T Like: Hip Hop, (c)Rap, etc; Country, Opera, Hard core punk & metal, & most "lowest common denominator pop".

Food: I like Vietnamese, Italian, Greek, Thai, Indian, Mexican, Chinese & Seafood to name a few. I wish I was a vegetarian from a moral (& these days financial!) point of view, but I do eat meat.
The six things I could never do without
1. My Cats (in my opinion whatever your opinion of a "God"; cats are that being's gift to the human race; though sometimes they seem to think they are Gods!)

2. Music
3. Daily bathing
4. Classic Film
5. Thoughtful Discussion
6. Cuddling & affection (thank goodness for cats!)
7. Laughter (Especially at myself!)
(OK, so it's 7!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Personal growth.
How to make life better (both mine & all people's)
Finding my new (& likely last) home
How to enjoy my advancing age (so far it's a challenge)
On a typical Friday night I am
Listening to music, playing on the computer (yes, I'm still on XP & pretending that I'm pc security conscious enough to get away with it; I actually just hate change!) or watching a movie at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask me!!!! (Once I know you I'm an open book)
You should message me if
Ladies, if I sound interesting, please don't hesitate to write. I am not at all shy once I get to know you, but I am LAME at initially reaching out!
