My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Um, let's see. I like candlelit badminton and long romantic walks to the fridge. I prefer Manhattans to piña coladas and I don't particularly care for getting caught in the rain. I put my pants on both legs at once, not one leg at a time "like everyone else." I'm looking for the Ella Fitzgerald to my Louis Armstrong, the Ginger Rogers to my Romeo, the corn-on-the-cob to my tiny forks.

...I'm not very good at self-summaries...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working in financial analysis, which generally means trying to read the future of the stock market in the scattered entrails of ritualistically slaughtered jelly doughnuts.

When I'm not up to my elbows in doughnut viscera, I like chess, pub trivia, and the occasional Netflix binge.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'd like to believe it's my intelligence or sense of humor, but all evidence suggests it's my hair. People even grope it occasionally.

I've got to keep this section short, because otherwise it could stretch on forever.

Books: Slaughterhouse-Five, 1984, and short stories from Isaac Asimov and Philip K. Dick. Currently reading Inherent Vice by Thomas Pynchon and Bobby Fischer's 60 Memorable Games.

Movies: Memento, Adaptation, The Prestige, and Zombieland.

Shows: Firefly, Community, Arrested Development, The West Wing, and Sherlock. I've watched a grand total of two episodes of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, but I know that has to go in here, too.

Music: Varies a lot based on my mood, but Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden are the usual standbys. Currently listening to Jethro Tull.

Food: Yes, please.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Conversation, a good cup of tea, air guitar, cool sheets on a warm Spring night, the thrill of discovery, and the last 40 seconds or so of "Save the Population."
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Stocks and bonds, the Najdorf variation of the Sicilian defense, and the fact that, according to our fridge contents, I'm the only person in my apartment that uses butter. That last bit weirds me out a little.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Random sampling of recent Friday nights: Karaoke, mildly fancy cocktail party, prog metal concert, wacky experimental theater, and drunken speed chess at a fancy-dress event.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
In case I ever become a TV weatherman, I already have my TV weatherman name picked out: Gustav Wynnde.
