I am Unique, Spunky, and Soulseeker.

My Self-Summary

*note: Hi everyone! I have actually met a great guy on here and we want to see where we are going. I'm still open to making friends so feel free to contact me. TTYL!

My name is Beth and I'm a geek. That is a fact, and I am proud of it. I grew up in a small town in West Virginia and I currently live in Canonsburg, PA.

I consider myself a very unique person and I tend to surprise people often. I've been told that I'm a wonderful listener and a "gentle soul." I tend to be on the quiet side when I first meet people not so much because I am shy but more because I like to see them for who they are. Overall, I'm pretty laid back and I like to just enjoy the moment.

I am not afraid to try new things and this means I've had some great experiences. I'm not afraid of getting dirty, but just because I can get dirty doesn't mean I don't enjoy the finer things. I enjoy watching movies at home cuddled on the couch or at the theater. I'm also an avid reader.

What I’m doing with my life

I just graduated with a Masters in Library Science from Clarion University of PA. I decided to expand my employment options by sticking around for another 3 semesters for a certificate of advanced studies/ K-12 certification. I will graduate with my third degree this December (2009)

I am currently a student preparing for my last semester of student teaching. During the summer months I am working at a public library as a part time reference/circulation librarian and also as an assistant children's programmer. I love my job!

I’m really good at

I can say I'm proficient in many areas, but master of none. . . haha. I like to draw, paint, knit, read, play video games, and ride [horses]. I like to think I can do anything I set my mind to.

The first things people usually notice about me

It's a toss up between my eyes, hair, and smile. I'm a natural redhead, but my hair is a very unique color of red somewhere between strawberry blond and red depending on the season. I also have unique eyes. They tend to change color depending on what I'm wearing. Strange, but true.

As for my smile. . .If you get to know me you will see it often. I like to laugh and make others laugh.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm a librarian so I have a wide range of books I love. I'm currently reading "House of Leaves." I'm not sure what genre this book fits into all I know is that it is messed up and challenging. Some parts of this book are read upside down, backwards (with a mirror), or in circles. It's just a very interesting, spooky, disturbing book. I am also working on the Sookie Stackhouse novel which inspired the "True Blood" HBO series.

I tend to devour books when I have the extra time and I may be reading 2-3 at one time. I usually go through about 4 (350+pg bks) per week

Movies: I love all kinds of movies but I really like horror and comedies, "Lady in White" and "Death to Smoochy" being a couple of my favorites.

Music: My Chemical Romance, Enya, Dan Fogleberg, Michael Penn, Goo goo dolls, Sarah McLachlan, Jem, Nickle Creek, and many many more. I have eclectic tastes

Food: Anything spicy or good old southern cooking

The six things I could never do without

1)My family
2)Books
3)Laughter
4)Fancast.com
5)A1 steak sauce
6)Good friends

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What is going to be next?. . . Where is it all going? . . . Will I make it?

On a typical Friday night I am

Well I'm currently in limbo making new friends because I just moved to Canonsburg, PA at the end of April 09' and I spent the last half of May in Philadelphia participating in an Urban Seminar. I have a few buddies who are within an hours drive and we go out occasionally so that's one option.

I am also working a new job and trying to unpack stuff in the new apartment. . . I guess as of now I have no typical Friday night.

I also don't mind my own company so I can have fun on my own.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am a mysterious woman. . . oh I've got it! I'm attempting to learn contact juggling. If you know what that is Yay! If not, look it up it's really nifty.

And I just recently learned I have a natural talent for driving and parallel parking 15 passenger vans. Who knew?! haha

You should message me if

If you are someone who knows who they are and where they are going. Someone with quirks and unique views and an honest personality. Someone who could make me laugh, make me blush, and make me happy.

Otherwise, If the above describes you then feel free to send me messages. If nothing else I'm a good friend.
