My self-summary
I am:
More curious than cautious, in a good way.
A problem-solver.
A great listener.
A pretty good story-teller.
Something of a comedian.
Clever. Sometimes overly so.
Not big on keeping silent.
Skeptical, but trusting.
Poetical.
Prideful, but not in a mean-spirited, competitive sort of way.
A little larger-than-life. (Not an innuendo, I'm just a little theatrical).
Very caring.
Analytical.
Thoughtful.
Charismatic.
Ironic.

As for hobbies, I enjoy fencing, lively debate, poetry, and quirky, impractical science. I like hosting small get-togethers, and I collect nice teas.

What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently in college, working on a bachelor's degree in mathematics, with hopefully a secondary (minor) in Computer Science or Physics. Whatever seems more fun at the time. From there, I hope to get an MBA, because it's no use having something to sell if you don't know how to get it to the people who want it, and if you don't have the business acumen to call the shots, then you don't end up selling, you end up selling out.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Freakonomics, the Ender's Shadow series, anything by Steven Pinker, popular science non-fiction, Richard Dawkins, Thomas J. Glover's Pocket Reference, Rudyard Kipling's poetry.
Movies: Princess Bride, Hot Fuzz, Branagh's Hamlet.
Music: too eclectic to even begin.
Food: not a big foodie. As long as it's not a cold turkey sandwich, I'm pretty much down for it.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Part of me is optimistic about this whole "online dating" thing, part of me thinks that's naive. I don't know which part will win.

I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18-22
  • Near me
  • For new friends, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
you're interested and think I'm worth checking out.
Must Be:
*Curious
*Presentable
*Kind
*Willing to (eventually) go on a date (The invention of the exclusively online relationship has got to be the most striking sign of our cultural anhedonia since the WOW addict).
*Single (shopping around is okay, but I'm nobody's "something on the side")
*Female (Sorry, fellas, that's just how I was born)

Couldn't hurt:
*Clever
*Gentle
*Irreverent
*Conversational
*Self-Reliant
*Fascinated by Science
*Self-Confident, physically and emotionally
*Flirty
*Grammatical
*Cheerful
*Responsible, Thrifty

Probably too much to ask for, but still nice:
*Unusually Book-Smart
*Quixotic
*Loves Stand-Up Comedy
*Inventive

If any of this sounds like you, drop me a message and we'll get to know each other.
