My self-summary
I hesitate to use the term "Renaissance Man" because it sounds like you think you're amazing at everything. In the sense of someone who both enjoys and actively seeks out a wide range of hobbies, interests and talents though, it describes me really well. I'm scientifically trained and employed but with a keen love of literature, history, art, nature, beautiful things and beautiful people among much else.

I'm quietly friendly, with a warm and compassionate heart and a lot of love to give (and a tendency to coo uncontrollably over cute animals or babies on sight).
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an engineer at a company that makes mass spectrometers - lots of tinkering and problem-solving, which I really enjoy.
Also tutoring Maths and Science of an evening, and loving it. :)
I’m really good at
Explaining things to people and making them interesting
Remembering all sorts of facts and trivia
Reading blisteringly fast
Spotting wildlife
Arts, crafts and tinkering in general
Fancy dress
Making tea
Looking after people
And, last but not least, I give absolutely amazing massages. Don't just take my word for it...
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm nearly 6'3" so it's my height's usually the first thing everyone notices. I have ludicrously long eyelashes, so you'd also be forgiven for wondering whether I'm wearing mascara.

Friends of friends quite possibly get the first impression that I'm secretly a supervillain, thanks to my tendency to wonder aloud whether outlandish gadgets like freeze rays and neural interfaces are physically feasible.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Emile Zola, Gustave Flaubert, George Orwell, Bill Bryson and Thomas Hardy are probably my favourite authors. Also love The Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Lord of the Rings, Death In Venice, Tropic of Cancer, The New Complete Book of Self-Sufficiency, Spike Milligan's Military Memoirs, Discworld, Just William and lots of others - I'm a very keen reader. Also have time for most cookery and history books.

Musically I'd say I've got an eclectic taste but high standards. Favourites include The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Gorillaz, Foo Fighters, The Smiths, Florence & The Machine, Nic Jones, Moby, Maximum The Hormone, The Clash, Daft Punk, The Prodigy, Thin Lizzy, The White Stripes and The Special AKA.

Favourite foods include curry, wild mushrooms, seafood, good steaks and home-grown fruit and veg. I'm a very adventurous eater - I can't think of anything I wouldn't at least try, as long as I was OK with how it got onto my plate.
The six things I could never do without
Off the top of my head;

Fresh air
Hot drinks
Good food
Interesting things to do
Something good to read in quiet moments
I spend a lot of time thinking about
All sorts. Most prominently I've always got loads of crafty and culinary projects at the back of my mind vying for attention.
On a typical Friday night I am
Tutoring once or twice and then having a well-deserved relax.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't smile on command for photos and look remotely natural. You can probably tell.
