I moved to Michigan(from Tennessee) in 2005 to attend CMU. I'm
studying musicology(music history) with a
minor in political science. I've
recently made the decision to seek a career in public policy development and
politics. I was
Co-President of the GSA at Central for two years and I spend a lot
of my time volunteering and being politically
active. I love camping, hiking, kayaking, listening to music and watching
movies. Traveling is really
important to me as well. Outside of school, I'm pretty chill and I
love to have fun. I love going to farmer's markets and gourmet grocery stores to
find new and exciting items to cook with. I enjoy good food and
good friends (and good wine/books/etc). I am always open to

My self-summary
What I'm doing with my life
Recently, I've discovered that perhaps I'm best suited for a career
in politics and public policy development. I really enjoy helping
others and this will be the most effective way for me to do so.
I've done a great deal of work with the Human Rights Campaign (on
and off Capitol Hill) and, more recently, with Barack Obama's
Campaign for Change.
I'm really good at
having awkward conversations, drinking coffee, being busy,
listening, analyzing, being logical, learning to be a little more
subjective, traveling, politicking, empathizing.....
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
my compassion for those around me and my kindness. Maybe my
inherent dorkiness?... my seriousness?... I have an awkward sense
of humor at best. I can be sort-of shy, but I break out of my shell
pretty quickly. Hopefully these are positive things.
