My self-summary Propose an edit

I'm a 25 year old gamer geek (yeesh....still getting over being a quarter of a century old) working on his Computer Science degree with a minor in history at a 4 year university. I have a plan for my life but I am willing to change depending on circumstances (already changed it once by dropping my education endorsement and going down to a History minor instead of a double degree). What I hope to do is work in the Games Industry for a while, then serious computer research (AI and Networking), then give back to the teachers I tortured by teaching. I like to have fun, read, travel, and meet new people. These plans are in flux at the moment depending on what the docs tell me. Nothing majorly serious but that could set me back a little bit.

I am also the most honest person you will ever know. Some people call me cynical because of that but I prefer knowing the reality of a situation and dealing with it than lying to myself about it. This does lead occasionally to some social faux pas but honestly I put the blame for those on other people. If they were more honest then those faux pas wouldn't happen. I take full responsibility for everything I say or do as well. It would be a better world if more people did.

I do not embarrass easily either.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Currently I am in school working towards my degree in Computer Science and a minor in History (yeah its weird I know but well....I'm kinda random, LOL). I'm an avid gamer, and I plan on working in the game industry for a while before moving into serious research on AI development (which I hope to work on in the Gaming Industry along with Networking).

gaming: MMOs and regular (I really like Eve-Online which I have been playing for over 3 years and Tabula Rasa (which I just recently started).

My eyes and my face. I've been told I have "interesting" eyes but I have yet to figure out what that means. That and the fact I lack a filter between brain and mouth. My friends have become my censors.

Taylor, anything by David Weber, anything by Spider Robinson, Elizabeth Moon (just finished the "Vatta's War" series), William Gibson, David Sherman & Dan Craig, Mike Sheppard, etc. I'm an AVID bibliophile. Working at a bookstore just feeds the addiction. ;D

Music: Cruxshadows (found 'em by John Ringo's books), Heather Alexander (celtic), Three Days Grace, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Manowar, Turisas, Kamelot, etc.

Movies: 300, Army of Darkness, Hackers, Boondock Saints, Smokey and the Bandit, Ultraviolet, New Guy, Perfect Score, Van Wilder, Serenity, etc.

TV: Law and Order, Good Eats, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, Iron Chef (original and America), CSI, Firefly, etc.

the world: both physically and philosophically. religion: I have some interesting ideas about it and I'm very open minded. gaming: how in the heck am I going to beat this one? computing: how in the heck am I going to program THIS?!?!?!

Also I have been thinking more about what I need to do with my life recently. Being sick and having been sicker makes you think about what you're doing and why you're doing it. Nothing revelatory yet but who knows?

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

At home reading or working on a project of some kind. I could also be relaxing with a game of some kind or watching TV. If I am invited to go out somewhere I'll definitely go and I love hanging out with my crazy friends! :D

I might also be in the radio station checking on equipment or training DJs. More recently its been working on paperwork. Yes I am a bit of a workaholic.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

I lack a filter between brain and mouth. This means that I say what I am thinking if I feel it needs to be said. I am also always truthful, I do not lie. Oh I am capable of it but I don't do it. The truth is usually bad enough as is, why make it worse? (LOL and yes this means that often I say things that aren't appropriate, my friends know this and often act as my filters. Oh I can be diplomatic if need be....but for me there is rarely that need.)
