I've been all over in the past few years.
I was in NYC for a while making art and working as a courier. I've developed horticulture projects with small scale coffee farmers, done translations, taught english in Honduras and music in Ecuador. I was working for more than a year on a demonstrative agroforestry project in Nicaragua.
I like to travel but don't believe in traveling just for the sake of it. I like to be in a place and get to know people. I'm starting to believe that I'm ready for something beyond the endless transience, and that I want to have friendships and relationships that don't have some cutoff date when myself or my friends and loved ones are always leaving to go somewhere else.
Food is important. (Not just delicious) I believe that by changing the way we farm and interact with what we eat, we can change the world. I call this the 'kick the legs out from under the beast' revolutionary tactic.
I try not to preach. I'm a reluctant radical.
I have many passions. I studied painting. I write fiction and take it seriously. I read a lot and don't take it seriously at all.
I can light a fire from what I find on the ground with one match in a thunderstorm, and I don't expect you to care. (But I can't use an iPhone to save my life.)
Nothing feels more right to me than being in a forest.
