My Notes edit

My self-summary

I had to change my profile from its former opener of "I'm awesome", because I was reading something (probably on cracked.com) and that exact same line was the sample beginning of a douchebag match.com profile. And while I may be kind of a jerk, I'm not that jerk. I am pretty awesome, though.

I love to go to shows and other large social gatherings of like-minded people. I haven't quite forgiven myself for not going out on election night 08.

I like to make crazy drawn out plans with friends, strangers or even just in my head for my own amusement.

My room is always a mess.

My family constantly makes fun of each other, same with my friends. Therefore, if I make fun of you, it's out of fondness, not cruelty.

I've recently made a lot of changes in my life. After spending seven years working my way up the chain of Corporate America(tm), it was over. Sure, I got fired, but I never would have left otherwise, so it was probably secretly one of those best-thing-that-ever-happened-to-me deals...

I've moved twelve times in half as many years.

What I'm doing with my life

Trying to savor my experience. Making things pretty. Making friends and reminiscing with old ones. Steaming milk. Being early to the bus. Having lots of fun.

Also, I now have a google phone, so we can add "being fancy" to this list.

I'm really good at

- Walking for hours and hours and hours without really getting tired.
- Kissing.
- Small talk.
- Making friends and keeping them for a long time.
- Remembering everything ever, much to the chagrin of my older brother.
- Seeming like I know what I'm doing.
- Being funny when I didn't mean to.
- Speaking in fragment sentences.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

My hair is probably messy.
My coat is very green.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Currently reading: Smile, You're Traveling. It's basically Henry Rollins diary from 1997-1998. He's an interesting guy. And I'm reading On The Road for the first time, too. I'm having a hard time sticking with books right now.

Last movie watched: Save the Green Planet. Wow, Korea, you make crazy movies.

Albums in heaviest rotation: Neutral Milk Hotel, The Dutchess and the Duke, Fiona Apple, Black Angels, Thao w/ the Get Down Stay Down, The Moondoggies, Le Tigre, No Make, Deftones.
last.fm: FourAlarmFire - I just got this, so it's not really a good determinant, but give it time.

Last ate: Polenta with veggies from Flowers (on the Ave) is delicious and if you ever go, you should order it.

The six things I could never do without

Friends and family.
Everything else I'd be okay without.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Velociraptors. Do you think they can open round door knobs? If not, I'm safe. For now.

(or for real: friends, family, boys, colors, feelings, music, art, people, hair, the differences between individuals and cultures and how fascinating it all is, how I should maybe go to college soon and how to afford that and what exactly I should study if I do go, food, the style of strangers, how happy I am to be back in Seattle, characters in books, pheromones, how to be better with my money/time, sewing)

On a typical Friday night I am

Ideally I'd be at a show at a small venue where I could spit on the band if I tried. Or out with a couple friends, drinking beers and talking shit.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I think that the little personality award things at the bottom of my profile are all pretty dead on. Except I have excellent manners, and I don't know why okcupid thinks that I don't. I do curse more than your average sailor, though, so maybe that's why.

You should message me if

You want to hang out.

You can write me if you don't want to hang out, too. It always brings joy to my heart to see the little envelope be pink instead of blue.
