My self-summary
staying busy. I'm a software engineer, run a small tape label, do a weekly radio show on an internet/soon to be FM station, and play shows occasionally. I bought a house recently so I've been dealing with everything that comes with that as well.
What I’m doing with my life
I travel a lot for work these days, so that means mostly trying to hold my life together from a distance. When I am in town I work a 9 to 5, play in a band or two, play some video games, hang out with my dogs, hike, go to bars with friends, read, host an internet radio show and occasionally make things. I went through graduate school so that I could afford to enjoy my passions without having to depend on them for sustenance, and that's what I'm working towards.
I have a degree in glassmaking but work as a software engineer.
Working on getting my life together.
I’m really good at
Making strange sounds with synthesizers.
Making terrible jokes. Making decent jokes. Making myself and other people uncomfortable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For books and movies I tend to like things that qualify as Sci-Fi more than anything else, but I've read and watched my share of "classics." There was a while when all I read was Vonnegut, then Hemingway, some Steinbeck, then working through the list of Pulitzer winners just because I figured they were probably worth reading. Recently I've been reading the Song of Ice and Fire series, How to Live Safely In a Science Fictional Universe, Cuckoo's Calling, Peoples History of the US, random music programming books.

I've been listening to Oneohtrix Point Never, Mount Kimbie, Disclosure, Fugazi, Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, Holly Herndon, Chromatics, Deerhunter, The Unicorns, Joanna Newsom, The Knife, James Blake, LCD Soundsystem, Aphex Twin, Battles, Severed Heads, Q and Not U, Slint, St.Vincent, YATCH, Wild Nothing, The XX, FKA Twigs, Dirty Projectors, Boards of Canada, and all that kind of stuff.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The liberation of insignificance.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing music.
Playing video games.
Singing karaoke.
Seeing a band.
Working on my radio show.
Doing nothing and loving it.
Playing games with friends.
