Rather than try to lure you in right off the bat with boasts and cleverly placed statements of self-deprication, I think I'll just share some things about me that should either pique your interest or scare you away:

1. I'm a rock climber. I am also a little bit obsessed with it and am always looking for climbing partners.

2. I'm a spiritual agnostic. I believe in a higher power, though I haven't arrived at any conclusion as to it's nature. I love and am loved - good enough for now.

3. I want kids. Not now, nor even in a few years, but eventually it will become mandatory.

4. I'm a sensitive guy. Mostly this just means that I allow myself to fully experience my emotions.

5. I smoke herb. This is not an obsession but it's probably not going to stop any time soon.

6. I'm picky when it comes to physical attraction. It has to be very high and, of course, that works both ways.

7. I'm fucking awesome.

I'm generally playful and in a good mood. I also tend to think differently than most people, which has its up side and down side. Despite time regularly wasted reinventing the wheel, I feel that my few great successes are well worth my many small failures.

Finally, I'm verbose... as if you couldn't tell by the sheer fucking length of this profile. I enjoy writing and talking at great lengths and it would be difficult to carry on with somebody who isn't also like that. Or, at the very least, somebody who likes to read.

I work as a computer programmer for UNT. Most people equate "computer programmer" with "computer nerd," but it's not so in my case. I actually kinda hate computers most of the time. I simply like solving problems and I happen to be very good at it. One day I think I'll probably become a math professor. Or a dinosaur, depending on the prerequisites.

Lately, I've been learning how to play the piano and I'm really enjoying it, but I suck. I also just joined a chorus in Denton though haven't been to a practice yet... I don't think I'm going to suck at that quite as bad as the piano, but who knows. I'll be sure to keep you updated. Someday, I'd honestly like to join a band. Hopefully I'll become famous, do lots and lots of drugs, and then kill myself. But then, I've always been a bit of a dreamer.

I'm also working toward becoming a Yoga instructor, which is something I honestly don't suck at. Unfortunately, a back injury last August set me back, so I guess I kinda suck a little. At least, for one shining moment I did.

There is lots of other stuff that I suck at, so if you want to know then I encourage you to ask since I'm pretty much an open book.

Appreciating the aesthetics of life, climbing, making jokes about sensitive topics, cooking, snowboarding, calculus, holding yoga poses as long as it takes, programming, making screwed-up faces that make me look like I'm missing a key chromosome, speaking in crazy-ass voices that make some people wonder what my deal is, getting people to smile (including myself - yes, I laugh heavily at my own jokes, deal with it), hating myself for the amount of snoozing I do nearly every morning, giving massages (and receiving - there's an art to getting a massage and I've got that down fuckin' pat), writing with mostly proper grammar and punctuation, making spelling mistakes, and stubbing my now tortured toes (poor little bastards have had a hard life, so be kind should you ever encounter them).

My height and my smile. Or my butt. Or my amazing abs... or my arms roped with sinewy muscles; my strong, ridged back, gleaming under the silvery moonlight; or my deep, compelling voice, drawing you in to my spider's web of love and making you shudder uncontrollably with an earthy, subhuman desire, until, finally, you loose control of your bladder...

Seriously, just my height and smile, as far as I know.

Food: Gimmie. Seriously, I love food. Veggies, meat, cooked, raw - I love it all. Well, most of it. The only stuff that I've tried and don't like are bland foods, olives, milk, and highly odorous cheeses.

Music: I like something from just about every popular form of music in the US. I like folksy music for for the lyrics and melody. I like electronic when I want to dance in my seat. I like ballads to sing along with. I like country for the same reason, though not as often. I like 80's hair bands when I'm feeling saucy, though even less often. I like rap and hip hop for the beats and meaningful lyrics, but I despise gangster rap. I like classical music when I'm calm and centered. I like metal and rock when I'm manic. I like dubstep when I'm feeling empowered and want to get toxic. Finally, unlike my culinary tastes, I don't tend to like world music too much, though there are some exceptions.

Movies: I honestly love a good movie now and again, but I don't usually *have* to see one. If it's generally accepted as well done, I'll likely enjoy it.

TV shows: I like the TV shows because when I like something, I *really* like it and want a lot of it, although I don't spend that much time at it. Some of my current favs are: Dr. Who, Fringe, Dexter, Archer, Tosh.0, Ridiculousness, HIMYM, Weeds, IASIP, and The Walking Dead.

Some of my old faves are: Firefly, 30 Rock, SG Universe, LOST, NOVA, Burn Notice, Family Guy, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, South Park, ST:TNG, BSG, SG Universe and SG1, AFHV, ATHF, Venture Bro's, and Farscape. I have a pretty thick science/space-nerd streak, if you can't tell.

Books: I listen to audiobooks with near-obsessive regularity. The WoT; The Paleo Solution; Right-ho, Jeeves; and books by Douglass Adams, Tom Robbins, and Tomothy Ferriss, as well as many others I'm not bringing to mind right now. Mostly fiction...

Also, I love Carl Sagan. Carl. Fucking. Sagan.

Chocolate chip cookies, Google maps, umm... 28" rims? Gold teeth? Sure, why not? Also, fingernail clippings, plastic sporks, partially pre-eaten apples, gory movies, fresh roadkill, typhoid fever, and AIDS.

Okay, in all seriousness:
Climbable rocks, boardable mountains, breathable air, drinkable water, befriendable people, and singable songs.

One thing I could always do without? Clowns. Fuck clowns, but not in the biblical sense. Inappropriate mental images, anybody?

New discoveries in physics and astronomy, the inevitable zombie Apocalypse (don't kid yourself, it's coming and you'd better be prepared), whichever piano piece I'm working on at a given moment (currently two pieces from the Amélie soundtrack), what I want for breakfast/lunch/dinner/midnight snack/Christmas, the English language (learning unfamiliar words as well as upgrading my grammatical skillz), how to sit at my computer without destroying my back and neck (I never seem to make much headway on this), and finally, I think a lot about sushi - seriously, a lot. Far too much, in fact.

Since joining this site, I've wondered about writing too-long messages on dating sites - both in how long is too long and who will find my possibly-too-long message too long. I don't usually get the chance to inquire after this as most people don't tend to respond (which is a shame for them as I'm terribly awesome and dashingly handsome). This lack of response has the unfortunate consequence of making me question, among other things, whether or not my message was, in fact, too long.

I bought a house and rent rooms to some of my best friends so we like to chill at home on Friday nights and watch TV, drink, and throw-up everywhere. Okay, I'm not a big drinker, so that's not true, but we do like to throw-up everywhere, so there's that.

Actually, I prefer to either leave town (camping, visiting another city, or whathaveyou) or stay in. Going "out on the town" usually doesn't appeal to me even though I usually have fun when I do - call me odd. No, seriously, call me odd.

I sing in the car, loudly... VERY loudly, unless I'm at a stop light and there is somebody next to me with their windows down. In that case I might sing under my breath and try to hide the fact that my lips are moving. Though, sometimes I ignore the fact and keep on belting out my sweet-as-syrup melodies in *perfect* tune. I'm amazing. Really. If you heard me sing, your ears would bleed from the heavenly power. Seriously, I make people's ears bleed a lot. It's pretty awesome.
