I’m a reader and a cinephile. I love to cook, though not bake. I get the same zen’d out feeling making a great meal that I do when I run. I’ve been a vegetarian and a vegan (kale = yes) and could be again, but for now I am enjoying the gifts of our hooved friends. Despite that, I am very interested in health, mine and that of the planet, and am always trying to move closer to an ideal state. The trying is the important part. Along those lines, I’m trying to move away from a desk-bound career and hope to become an acupuncturist. Currently, I’m an editor. I still love writing and “the life of the mind,” but I think I have more to offer, and gain, by engaging more of myself.
I love, need, and crave the outdoors. Hiking with the dogs and friends, or a few days of solo camping, whatever; I draw peace and inspiration from nature. I’m definitely looking for someone who can relate.
A friend tells me that I’m quiet on the surface but brewing underneath. I think this is true, but it’s equally true that I wear my heart on my sleeve. The most stupid stuff makes me cry, but I laugh just as easily. Really, I’m pretty funny, this profile not withstanding; sarcasm is family currency. Humor and kindness (and a tendency toward the handy—no doubt about it, a handy man is attractive), are qualities I’m looking for in a man. Quick wit, curiosity, the ability to summon gallows humor in a dark moment; these are all good things. Do you like music? Can you watch a subtitled film without falling asleep? Would the thought that you’d already eaten the best meal of your life make you sad? If any of this resonates let’s have a chat.
