My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have an insatiable curiosity for life and a good sense of humor. A simple statement, but true.

Really though, I never know what to write in these spaces. How can anyone? We're all multi-faceted, complex beings (well, most of us are). On top of that, I'm more of a visual thinker; words don't come easy for me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
As of April 2015, I'm working at the job of my dreams in Portland.

I like to read a lot, and get outside as much as possible when it's nice outside.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh.

Listening. Seriously, if listening to other people was an Olympic sport, I'd be a gold-medal champion. But only at the summer games.

Pinball. In fact I'm so good, you might say I had some sort of magical talent. Perhaps even a Pinball Sorcerer.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Physically, I've been compared to a Hobbit, so I'm gonna go with that.

I always carry at least one book with me, in case of emergencies.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Currently (June '15), I'm reading up on the history of mythology and fairy tales. I'm also reading a couple different books on Asian culture and art.

Movies: I've started watching more movies lately, both as a way to show my support for Videoport, and because my apartment building has a little movie theater. I'll watch almost anything (recent selections include "Fiddler on the Roof," "Westworld," "Inside Lleweyn Davis," and "The Black Hole.")

Television: I don't have cable or satellite, but my general tastes run towards The Muppet Show, Archer, Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, Daria, Community, Arrested Development, Downton Abbey, Adventure Time, The Simpsons, Futurama, Bizarre Foods, and MST3K.

Music: Far, far too many artists to name, so I'll just leave a few of my favorite songs as a sampler (I used to make pretty good mix tapes, back in the day...):

Food: As long as it's prepared with thought and effort, I'll try it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My glasses

2. My job (although I have a couple of ideas for a home business that I'd like to try someday, when I have the room for it)

3. My car

4. A sense of humor. I find a lot of things amusing, not necessarily "laugh out loud" kind of funny (although there certainly are times when that's true), but more of an internal, observational humor.

5. Tea.

6. My cat Ollie.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Planning my next trip to my parent's farm up north. I love living in the Portland area, but it's nice to see the night sky without any kind of artificial light.

Whether life is more like a David Lynch film or more like a Far Side comic. (Both!)

I've got an answer
I'm going to fly away
What have I got to lose?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Unraveling a big cable-knit sweater that someone keeps knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting...

Actually, I'm probably at work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have mild Asperger's Syndrome. Quiet and introverted and a little anxious.

"No! I am not Prince Hamlet, nor was meant to be;
Am an attendant lord, one that will do
To swell a progress, start a scene or two,
Advise the prince; no doubt, an easy tool,
Deferential, glad to be of use,
Politic, cautious, and meticulous;
Full of high sentence, but a bit obtuse;
At times, indeed, almost ridiculous—
Almost, at times, the Fool."
