In my opinion reading travel guides, blogs, articles, Wikipedia,
etc can count as being an active reader especially since I spend a
lot of time online doing mainly that daily. My favorite books thus
far include Fodors, Lonely Planet, and Eyewitness travel guides;
Idiots Guide To Hinduism, Idiots Guide To World Religions, Blue
Bloods series books 1-3, The Vampire Lestat, Wuthering Heights, and
the Holy Bible. Even if you're not a religious person I recommend
checking out the Bible because it's not only filled with good moral
stories but also includes stories of war and romance. It really is
well-written and a great read. I can't stress that enough. I'd like
to devote time to reading actual books and might get around to
reading Song of Ice and Fire which is what the Game of Thrones
series is based on.
I don't really watch TV much and mainly just have it playing in the
background while I'm online but I like Jerry Springer, Baggage,
Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern, Man Vs. Food, American Dad,
Family Guy, Seinfeld, George Lopez, most History Channel
documentaries (especially when it's about ancient societies,
Vikings, the Dark Ages, the Middle Ages, and the Holocaust), PBS
Masterpiece Theater productions, and the occasional Lifetime movie.
Now that I've upgraded to HBO I intend to get caught up with Game
of Thrones by the next season.
Movies: Gravity, We're The Millers, A.I. Artificial Intelligence,
The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, Hunger Games, Harry
Potter series, The Interview With The Vampire, Bram Stoker's
Dracula. I'm looking forward to seeing Romeo and Juliet, Catching
Fire, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, and Noah in the coming
My earliest musical influences included Michael Jackson, Prince,
and Madonna. In the late 80's I became interested in both heavy
metal and rap. It may sound odd but I loved both equally. At that
time I loved Guns N Roses; and Vanilla Ice was the artist that
introduced me to rap. In the '90s I was too cool for mainstream
popular music and preferred either rap or alternative before I
became interested in punk. In my punk phase I loved Exploited, Sex
Pistols, and The Ramones. After graduating from High School in 1998
I met the first man I'd count as my first love and he'd been a
classmate of mine and was really into the metal scene. In recent
years I've come to realize I'm not too cool for pop or country
music and count Lady Gaga and Dwight Yoakum among my fave artists.
Last, but certainly not least, I think Lindsey Stirling is the best
musician to come out in ages.
I think of myself as a somewhat adventurous eater since I'm willing
to try most things at least once! I don't think I could ever try
escargot, foi gras, haggis, nor balut though! I'd also like to add
that although my attempts at cutting out meat and dairy from my
diet have failed I have a deep admiration for vegans and raw
vegans. Some of my fave things include maple syrup, chocolate,
Nutella (a chocolate and hazelnut spread), a good cheesy pepperoni
pizza, buffalo wings, Wing Stop's Louisiana rub boneless wings,
authentic tacos, Chinese hot and sour soup, and curries. Gah! Aside
from traveling I love food so I best not get too carried away! LOL!
Adding to that I'd like to mention my love for food is a big reason
I wish to visit Cajun Country, New Orleans, Chicago (for pizza),
Quebec (for maple syrup), Lyon (said to be France's gastronomic
center), Italy, and Japan.
My favorite holidays are Halloween, Christmas, Mother's Day, and my
birthday! I love wearing costumes, eating candy, both giving and
receiving gifts, family time, the fact there's a special day
devoted to moms, and a day that's all about what I want!
