Let's see...I'm fresh out of my grad school, and I've recently been hired at a local high school, teaching English. I wanted to teach high school English, mostly because I love the kids, but also because I am passionate about the written and spoken word. My favorite part of what I do is that I get to watch as my students are brought to new places in their lives by being in my classroom. Now that I have a job, I still love the kids, but my passion comes and goes, depending on how willing they are to not put sticky notes in my hair. HI-larious, right? Not so much...

Obviously I am a nerd, and proud of it! I am one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and one of the most sarcastic, so you never know which version of myself you will get. I've been known to be quite a firecracker : )

I also like playing sports, especially tennis and basketball.

I need to laugh, or else I will self-combust, so if you have a good sense of humor, that's a major plus. Actually, even if you have a crappy sense of humor it might be ok, assuming of course that you try to make me laugh. I don't really care if I'm laughing at you, or with you, so long as I'm laughing : )

I've been in school all my life, and I plan on staying there to teach (crazy, I know). I love to learn, and so value intelligence and a thirst for knowledge in others.

I've been told I'm a great cook and an even better baker, and I think people become my friends just for my cooking. I give really good massages, so I've been told, but from people who were hoping to get baked goods out of me, so that may not have been so reliable.

My eyes; they match my hair.
I've also been told that I come off as "nice", but then once people get to know me they soon change their minds and apply more interesting adjectives, the most popular of which are "quirky", "nerdy", "snarky" and "the most wonderful person alive" (just kidding).

As for music, at the risk of totally and completely nerding out...I love soundtracks and classical music. Favorite composers are Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, and John Williams (although a bit overrated). Beethoven is a miracle sent from Heaven, as are Mozart, Verdi, Bach, and Puccini.
I do like popular stuff too, but if I had to choose, I'd pick Beethoven over the Beatles.
Generally, I'm a fan of anything I can sing along with, especially Adele and Sara Bareilles. I am always open to new suggestions, though. I'll listen to anything!

Haha, food....well....food and I have a love/hate relationship, in that I love to eat it and then hate it for tempting me. Damn you, food! You're just sooooo gooood.

My one goal in life is to be happy. Obviously that encompasses a lot, but I don't pretend to know what is going to make me truly happy in life, so I really don't know how to answer this other than saying:

Happiness

(Oh, and a shower at least once a day would be an added bonus)

How I can be less snarky. Although, I do love the snark.

Either hanging out at home, finally able to relax, or sipping a glass of wine with my friends, should the mood strike us.
