I am a star, earthbound, and twinkling.

My Self-Summary

I love to read, doing volunteer and charity work, learning stuff and things, travel, animals, art museums, good conversation. I do volunteer work for Read OC to teach adult literacy. People who know a lot about things I which don't interest me. I don't eat red meat or pork, I figure I'm not a hypocrite if I don't eat animals I wouldn't be willing to kill. And I think I could kill a chicken if push came to shove. Although I never have. Once when I was 9 or so I did throw a chicken off the roof because I wanted to see if it could fly. I thought maybe chickens had stopped flying out of laziness. Turns out they can fly a little, although they are really, really bad at it. So I think maybe chickens actually stopped flying out of embarrassment. This is the same reason I don't like skiing. Because once I skied right onto a patio of people enjoying their breakfast. I guess what I am saying is, I can identify with chicken humiliation.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm over educating myself.

The first things people usually notice about me

My smile. At least that's what I've been told.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Jane Austen ("Persuasion" is my favorite of hers. I also read "Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies" recently and it was pretty awesome), Shakespeare, Ovid, chick lit, "Silence", "I Heard the Owl Call My Name", Faulkner, Sylvia Plath, "Wide Sargasso Sea", "Good Omens" ... right now I'm reading "The Historian", and it's good but a little too long (and this is coming from someone who has read Gone With the Wind at least 6 times). There's tons more, I love to read. I'll read classics, and then all the Sookie Stackhouse books. Pretty much I'll read anything.

Movies: Nightmare Before Christmas, Trainspotting, Pulp Fiction, Goodfellas, Mel Brooks movies (Young Frankenstein, History of the World, Blazing Saddles), Farewell My Concubine, The Lover, Dangerous Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, Office Space, Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Music: I tend to like indie/anti-folk type music - Necko Case, Regina Spektor, Aimee Mann. Also Dresden Dolls, Duffy, Lily Allen, Emily Autumn, Billie Holiday ...
