My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved here from the Midwest about 2 years ago for the job.

Young in heart and mind, I am still strong, capable and mostly fearless. Optimistic, confident, happy, and hopeful; I believe in growing old naturally and gracefully. My hair is naturally platinum.

I am looking for an intelligent, available, well balanced man with a sense of humor - who can imagine himself with a self sufficient woman like me. That's been the tough part in my life.

Many men of my generation 'need to be needed' and I need one differently than most. I can weld, fix most things, ride my own motorcycle, design and build stuff, have my own tools and a ladder, mow my own lawn and take care of any pests that get in the house without screaming. I need you for what you have to offer in heart, humor, spirit, passion, conversation, cards, and maybe someday; partnership. It's been my experience that most men my age and older struggle with gender roles and as a result, I usually choose to date younger men. No offense. If you're different, I'll listen. Write me.

I am looking for one very special Renaissance man more than I am looking for a bunch of different dates. My heart is his last home...and I know it. I am looking for a great friend who can grow into more.

I graduated from art school, raised my family on a farm, started up and sold a few tech companies and keep my toe in the entrepreneurial waters.

I avoid toxins in most forms from junk food to bad people. I don't smoke. I drink wine on special occasions only.

I am joyful, optimistic and genuinely friendly. I was married over 23 years. I am ok - and have done the clearing work and I believe in love. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I love what I do for work and travel a bit with the job. I am on the cutting edge of technology and get to see the cool stuff up close. I wear a suit most days and get to meet some really impressive minds in the work.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Solving complex problems. I learn fast, retain well and communicate clearly. I am a story teller and can translate complex technical concepts to groups who are not technical.

I don't believe the glass is half full or half empty. I believe the container is improperly sized.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair....and my height.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I am currently reading a couple of books at once which may not be the best idea I've had.

I do love ee cummings poetry, A Confederacy of Dunces, Flowers for Algernon, Kurt Vonnegut, Mark Twain. I enjoy lots of different audio books while driving or flying.

I love going out to the big screen and at the top of my list are Avatar, Braveheart, Rear Window, Princess Bride, Shawshank Redemption, Edward Scissorhands, The Piano, Old Yeller, It Could Happen To You, Moonstruck, Raising Arizona, A Fish Called Wanda, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

I have favorite movie scenes, too; like the divorced husband and wife goodbye kiss in the Abyss, the haircut in Phenomenon, the toe tapping velociraptor in the kitchen of Jurassic Park, and the answering machine dialog on Swingers. If you a) don't get the reference or b) think that's porn of some kind - don't click me.

I enjoy most live events - like opera, symphony, musicals, Broadway shows, sporting events (especially college basketball) but not NASCAR.

I grow a garden in summer.

As for current TV, I like Vikings, Downton Abbey, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Hell on Wheels, and Outlander right now (on demand).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I buy quality; not names. I like fresh herbs, a good tea, well made oak furniture, honeycrisp apples, old clocks, and high thread count linens because they feel so good on my skin. I make a good living and have moderate tastes.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
thinking, innovation, and discovery...and start-up ideas.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
likely to be cooking something...playing a game with one of my grown kids online... planning a sailing ship adventure, shopping at uwajimaya, or exploring my new city.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I had cancer when I was 30. I am fine now and have been ever since but it changed me. I took control of my life and altered my course and I respect those who can and do the same.

I don't get involved with anything petty. I have low tolerance for gossip, drama, drunks & addicts, or bullshit of any kind. I don't lie, cheat or steal and I don't associate with those who do, or suffer fools or hotheads. Life is too short.

I look and act younger than I am - and I do enjoy sex but only with someone I trust and with whom I share an emotional investment and connection. I was never promiscuous and am not now. I am not looking for a fling, a hook-up, or a friend with benefits.

I wear a suit today but I didn't always. There's far more to me than you might imagine.

I've been contacted by liars and cons here - but I am really trying not to become jaded. I have my shit together, and you should, too if you contact me. I don't know why I am typing this here - the cons don't really get this far in the profile. Ah well - maybe I just needed to say it.

Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. Whether you're interested in me or not, I hope you find love, laughter, and joy. We all deserve it.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are genuinely, legally, emotionally, and mentally single and prepared to meet a good woman with an open mind.

Write if you are of the same mindset or in the same place in your life.

You should NOT message me if you are married, separated, in a committed relationship. Also, if you are younger than my kids (33) you are too young for me, sorry.

I do believe there are good men here and I keep this profile up to find you.

"You are tired,
(I think)
Of the always puzzle of living and doing;
And so am I.

Come with me, then,
And we’ll leave it far and far away—
(Only you and I, understand!)

You have played,
(I think)
And broke the toys you were fondest of,
And are a little tired now;
Tired of things that break, and—
Just tired.
So am I.

But I come with a dream in my eyes tonight,
And knock with a rose at the hopeless gate of your heart—
Open to me!
For I will show you the places Nobody knows,
And, if you like,
The perfect places of Sleep.

Ah, come with me!
I’ll blow you that wonderful bubble, the moon,
That floats forever and a day;
I’ll sing you the jacinth song
Of the probable stars;
I will attempt the unstartled steppes of dream,
Until I find the Only Flower,
Which shall keep (I think) your little heart
While the moon comes out of the sea."
