My self-summary
Please don't message me if you're not local, I'm not interested in long-distance communication.

Music loving. Educated. Feminist. Open-minded. Curious. Amatuer Chef, Pop-culture Vulture. Cinephile. Reality TV -consuming. Traveling. Dancing Queen. Fun loving. Minnesota/West-African gal. Some goals for 2015 were to: see more live music, eat less meat, visit a new state, finally see Star Wars 😁 Status of those goals: I went to DE, nice state! I'm eating less meat and only kinda missing it. I took my little sister to Jingleball, now there's a story. I still haven't ever seen Star Wars but I hear it's only okay or something.

In 2016, I still need to see Star Wars, but beyond that I want to make some major changes in my life, including doing more international travel and making a career change. Happy Endings is now streaming on Hulu, so 2016 is already off to a great start, I'm excited to see what adventures it will bring, I'm ready!

I'm the complete package. Head, shoulders, knees, and toes, knees and toes.

I think I'm pretty awesome 👌🏾 your move 😉
What I’m doing with my life
I work in higher education. I travel and work with both high school and college students every day. I work with brilliant young people and have smart, open-minded colleagues, that combination makes me quite happy.
I’m really good at
Cooking, dancing, staying up way too late, making new friends, listening, and going on the random adventures.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my laugh, I've been told it's infectious. I don't know, the gap in my teeth? I wanted to get braces as a kid, now it's something I'm thankful I never did. If you didn't know, gaps are TOTALLY in, for real (see - Anna Paquin, Georgia May Jagger, Madonna, Brandi Carlile, my mom) I'm in great company!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I really enjoy Arrow, The Flash, Lost, Fringe, Happy Endings, Seinfeld, Sherlock, The 100, It's Always Sunny, Brooklyn 9-9, and lots of what's on HBO Go (please let's talk about The Leftovers!!!). No shame in my game, I love most everything on the CW 😏

Harry Potter everything. Yes, I cried when I learned Alan Rickman died. RIP Professor Snape.

Movie theaters are my happy place, especially during Oscar season.

I rule at pop culture trivia. It's my jam.

I'm a frequent podcast listener, any suggestions?

I absolutely love to cook. I feel at peace in a kitchen. I think food connects us as a people, so I think it's important to eat the world. I love Thai, anything my mom makes (West African food), fried plantains, sushi, pizza and kale - don't even get me going on how much I love kale.

Music is everything. I grew up listening to jazz and African music with my dad. I now listen to everything from The Black Keys, to Amadou and Mariam, to Taylor Swift. I love local musician John Mark Nelson.
The six things I could never do without
Good food
Though infrequent, naps
Four seasons not The Four Seasons, but that would be nice too
I spend a lot of time thinking about
There are so many things swirling through my mind. As a young professional nearing 30, how can't your mind constantly be running about the the things that come with adulting? If you know the secret, please let me know.
On a typical Friday night I am
There's most likely going to be some dancing, good food and adult beverages.

I feel kind of lame if I don't do something on a Friday but I'm slowing coming to terms with that and realizing I'm not 21 anymore. I'm now more appreciative of quiet relaxing nights watching a movie or playing games with friends. Then again, I'm not 70 either, so let's go do something fun!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I made my screen name on a whim and now I can't change it without becoming an A-list member, lame.
