I am liberal, a bit silly, and microwavable.

My Self-Summary

So first of all, props for visiting my profile. I'm a freshman electrical engineering student at Northeastern University.

At risk of sounding a bit cocky (great way to start an introduction), I consider myself a very motivated individual, and a bit of a nerd. Though I'm a huge procrastinator (I get nearly all my work done at 3 in the morning), I still get stuff done.

I must admit, I'm a bit of a computer geek (you kind of have to be if you're an electrical/computer engineering major). I'm usually the guy my friends go to when they have computer issues. I'm a pretty decent computer programmer as well, if I do say so myself. But don't let that fool you. I'm NOT a video gamer at all. I've tried first person shooters, and I just suck at them. If anything, I'd say the Wii is the only system with games I like to play. And I'm not the kind of guy who talks about computers all day long. I'm more of the philosopher. Think Aristotle meets Bill Gates (meets Brad Pitt?)... yep, the personality of bill gates, the sexiness of Aristotle, and the genius mind of Brad.

That being said, I would much rather prefer to hang out with my friends and be outside than sit on my computer all day. I'm somewhat of an adventurous person, and I've spent most of my weekends this past year just exploring Boston with my friends.

I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs at all. Mind you, I'm still an unbelievably fun person, and I must say, my friends know how to be super awesome without doing any of that stuff. I really don't like hanging out with people who smoke or do drugs. Its honestly a huge turnoff for me. Drinking I don't mind as much though.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a freshman at Northeastern University, studying electrical engineering, and minoring in either computer engineering or computer science.

I also work at Staples on the weekends, selling bits and pieces of my soul (in the form of extended warranties and service plans) to unsuspecting and somewhat naive customers. It sucks, but I need moneys to buy noms.

I’m really good at

Though its kind of geeky, I'll admit I'm pretty good at solving the Rubik's cube, and puzzles like that. I can generally solve one within 45 seconds, though at one point, I had gotten down to about 30 seconds.

I'm a black belt in karate as well, though I'm not really the strongest guy you'll meet. At the very least, I can do a fairly good job at defending myself (and the person I'm with, perhaps?).

The first things people usually notice about me

The one thing I can never gauge at is what other people think of me. I know its something elusive to everyone, as people can often say one thing about a person, and think another. But for me, I never had any idea what others thought of me, mainly because I didn't care too much. There are people who are important to me, my friends and family, and I couldn't care if the rest of the world thought negatively of me.

So I'm sorry to say, I really don't know the first thing people usually notice about me.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:
-The Namesake,
-To Kill a Mockingbird,
-A Series of Unfortunate Events
-Artemis Fowl
-Harry Potter (I know, don't criticize me for being conformist).
-I've been planning on reading the Ender's game for quite a while, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Comics:
I'm a fan of xkcd
Movies:
I'd say I'm a pretty big fan of both Indian and American movies. "Back to the Future" would definitely fall under one of my favorite movie series of all time.
The following movies would also fall under my list of favorites:
The Dark Knight, Star Wars (episodes 4-6), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Little Miss Sunshine, The Matrix, V for Vendetta, Stranger than Fiction, Finding Nemo

Music:
I listen to a little bit of everything, except for rap, which I can't say I'm too fond of. Weezer, AC/DC, and The Beatles are probably my favorites. I'm a big fan of Indian music as well. No one beats A.R. Rahman when it comes to amazing music.

TV Shows:
I'm a fan of "The Office". I also really like "Arrested Development", finding it to be unbelievably under-rated. The following shows I'd consider my favorites as well:
-How I met your mother!!
-Numb3rs
-Scrubs
-Colbert Report
-Big Bang Theory
-Firefly (I've recently started watching this, and I'm hooked. Why would they ever cancel it??)

I gotta say, I also appreciate Heroes and House, but I've hardly found time to watch them recently.

Food: Pretty much anything at all, as long as its vegetarian.

The six things I could never do without

I can't say I'm a very materialistic person. There is very little I could really never do without (not counting the life essentials of course). But if I had to pick tangible things, my ipod, watch (a gift from my parents), and my rubik's cube would probably top the list.

But the real "things" I couldn't live without are here:
1. Friends
2. Family
3. True Love (or the knowledge that I'll one day attain true love -- the only way you can be happy alone is if you know that one day you'll find the person to complete you -- yes I'm a hopeless romantic... very very hopeless)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

There are three basic schools of thought that my brain tends to switch between at any given time: Religion and its questionable legitimacy, women, and how awesome it would be if I were a wizard(though this also often leads to thinking about women).

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually chilling with my friends, either watching a movie with them or doing something else totally awesome. We generally make sure that there's not a boring moment through our weekends. Be warned though, I don't drink or smoke, and I'm not much of a partyer - (side note:I'm not even sure "partyer" is a real word, firefox is telling me it isn't).

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Well, there was this one time, I'm not sure if I should write it, but here goes.

Once, I thought it would be a good idea to stick my █████ into a █████████. Of course, at the time, it seemed like a brilliant idea. Then again, I was only ██ at the time, so I didn't really know that what I was doing could have painful results. Needless to say, because I stuck my shiny █████ into the very skinny █████, I was hospitalized for a few days. I did, however learn my lesson. Never again will I be so careless with my ██████. Actually, now that I think about it, it wasn't mine. It was my dad's ██████. I realized that his █████ only belongs in his pant pocket, not in the ██████ of some random person's home.

(NOTE: This story is legit, message me if you want the details :))
p.s. how do you end a parenthetical comment with a smilie face, it just seems wrong (yes I got this from xkcd :))

You should message me if

You looking for someone fun to talk to. Even if you're not looking for a relationship, I always enjoy making new friends and just talking with people. I'm a pretty open person, and you can really talk to me about anything, and I wouldn't mind.

Plus, the way I see it, messaging me would only make my day so much brighter. Hence, if were to assume correctly, me messaging you back would only make your day brighter. Therefore, we can brighten one another's day with a simple message. So all the more reason to message me, especially if the day is cloudy (har har - stupid joke, I know).
