My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a liberal, politics-and-economics junkie and I spend most of my time thinking about how society is shaped and how it could be made better.

I'm new to dating and romance, having been a late bloomer. Now, though, I'm looking for love, and hoping to eventually get married and have children :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am about to move to Ithaca in search of new horizons, hopefully get a job and find someone.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Thinking about things. I think all the time about politics, economics, and other stuff that's related.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love Game of Thrones. And I've read the books and loved them even more. I'm practically obsessed, I know everything about it, and I can discuss it for hours.

In nonfiction, I have read and enjoyed a number of books, notably Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson. Of the books I was assigned in college, by favorites were Give Me Liberty by Eric Foner and my geology textbook. Shakespeare, too, was very enjoyable once I got the hang of the archaic language. I rarely read fiction, but I enjoyed the Harry Potter series and some of Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. And then of course, I got into Game of Thrones and it ate me.

Online, my favorite sites are the New York Times, Kevin Drum, The Dish, Slog, Matt Yglesias, Brad DeLong and Paul Krugman's blog.

As for movies and tv shows, I don't watch those much anymore except of course GoT, but my older favorites are The Lord of the Rings and Babylon 5. I generally tend to prefer quests to save the world and complicated politics over romantic comedies. The shows I've seen most recently are Doctor Who, Castle, and Game of Thrones. I've also gotten started on Person of Interest.

I listen to a lot of the Metal bands Avantasia, Nightwish and Sonata Arctica, and a bunch of German bands too, which I like precisely because the lyrics are in a foreign language and I like to have a sense of mystery concerning what they're about. I listen to a mix of metal, rock, and folk. In college I liked to listen to whatever people in the dorm were playing. Not all of it was good, but most of it was. Somehow, perception of music seems to be affected by one's perception of the person who put it on.

My favorite food is salmon sashimi. It's so delicate in its flavor and texture. I prefer food that is simple and plain, and shy away from exotic fare and things with lots of flavor, as I have a sensitive tongue. I am not at all adventurous when it comes to food.

You're a guy who's good at getting things done. I'm terrible at getting things done, but I really like it when things get done :)

You like to talk about politics and/or economics! And Game of Thrones!
