My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a very liberal, political junkie and I spend most of my time thinking about how society is shaped and how it could be made better.

I'm new to dating and romance, having been a late bloomer. Now, though, I'm looking for love, and hoping to eventually get married and have children :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am taking courses to prepare for graduate school. I'm planning to study economics :)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Thinking about things. I think all the time about politics, economics, and other stuff that's related. I cook for myself and sometimes for my parents, who I live with, and they agree that it is delicious.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I don't read books very often anymore, since I prefer to read online. Recently, however, I have read Debt: The First 5,000 Years by David Graeber and Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson. I highly recommend them both. My favorite book is The Conscience of a Liberal by Paul Krugman. Of the books I was assigned in college, by favorites were Give Me Liberty by Eric Foner and my geology textbook. Shakespeare, too, was very enjoyable once I got the hang of the archaic language. I rarely read fiction, but I enjoyed the Harry Potter series and some of Terry Pratchett's Discworld books.

Online, my favorite websites are the New York Times, Slate, Slog, Matt Yglesias, Brad DeLong and most of all Paul Krugman's blog. I regularly read the webcomics Girl Genius, Sinfest, and xkcd.

As for movies and tv shows, I don't watch those much anymore, but my favorites are The Lord of the Rings and Babylon 5, respectively. I generally tend to prefer quests to save the world over romantic comedies. The shows I've seen most recently are Doctor Who, Castle, and the first season of Game of Thrones.

I listen to a lot of the Metal bands Blind Guardian, Helloween, Avantasia, Nightwish and Sonata Arctica. I listen to a mix of metal, rock, and folk. In college I liked to listen to whatever people in the dorm were playing. Not all of it was good, but most of it was. Somehow, perception of music seems to be affected by one's perception of the person who put it on.

My favorite food is salmon sashimi. It's so delicate in its flavor and texture. I also like cooked salmon, with a bit of salt. Most days I eat mashed potatoes (Yukon Gold rocks) with meat and a vegetable. I like my steak rare, my chicken boiled, and my vegetables boiled or steamed. My preferred veggies are spinach, squash, corn and carrots. I'm also fond of scrambled eggs, bacon and french toast. I used to dislike milk but then I discovered that it tastes great as long as you don't leave it sitting out of the fridge :)

You're a guy who's good at getting things done. I'm terrible at getting things done, but I really like it when things get done :)

You like to talk about politics and/or economics!
