I am earnest, whimsical, and fiery.

My Self-Summary

I like people who are interested in life itself, not just certain of it's contents.

Goodness knows what I'm looking for... the people who end up mattering tend to make space for themselves in any case, rather than falling into some pre-existing slot...

that said...

....I find girls in woolly jumpers sexy...

I am turned on by a good conversation...the changes of space and feeling and colour that come in talking to someone good make drugs and telescopes and time travel redundant...

...there will always be a place for strong coffee though.

I resent that all the tests on this bloody thing label me as 'less desiring of sex'. I'm plenty desiring of sex, it's just that I like to know someone first.

Oh, and I'm sensitive. That's quite important. Life is big and vivid and shocking for me, and I take in what I experience deeply. This means I need my sleep, and I need time alone. It's the foundation of most of the things I like about myself, and a lot of the things other people like about me, so I might as well be up front about it.

What I’m doing with my life

Working in special needs education, playing music often writing.

I’m really good at

Observing people. (not yet ace at responding intelligently to what I see and feel- working on that).

Using words, as opposed to being used by them.

Sticking my neck out in awkward/exciting situations. I'm quiet, but often the only one speaking in a meeting, or the first to jump.

being earnest

being daft

Cooking

taking photographs

intuiting

The first things people usually notice about me

It probably depends on the person and what they are inclined to notice.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Food: Things that are cooked well with love and with flavours.

Music: Pretty serious about music. Too hard a question to answer....

Books: The God of Small things, by Arundhati Roy, The Web of Life, By Fritjof Capra, Clear Waters Rising, by Nicholas Crane, Captive State, by George Moonbat, anything by Terry Pratchet, anything by Phillip Larkin, Rilke's Sonnets to Orpheus, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Zen Mind Beginner's mind, Writing down the Bones.

Movies: American History X, This is England, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Baz Luhrman's Romeo and Juliet, Shawshank, Wallace and Grommit.

The six things I could never do without

Air, Water, food, music, nature, company.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The people I work with, how I'm feeling, whether it's worth trying to work within the money economy or whether I should just volunteer in return for board and lodging. Whether we will survive the envirionmental crisis and if so how? What I've just said and why on earth I might have said it. Music. Beauty.

On a typical Friday night I am

knackered

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I love the floaty feeling of cycling while drunk

You should message me if

...it seems like a good idea at the time...

Oh, and if you're basically up for meeting. It's good to spend some time sounding eachother out, but whatever sort of thing you're looking for, I do think real life beats the internet.
