I recently finished "Shock Value", John Waters's memoires. It's good to see someone who has made a career out of trash and bad behavior, but not like Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and the likes. Makes me think there is hope for all of us.
Currently reading Pierre Bourdieu and loving it.
Big fan of Marguerite Duras and e.e.cummings.
I don't think movies should be taken lightly. And yes, I have a very serious face when I say this.
I guess last concert I went to was Of Montreal's. One of the best things I ever did. I guess that is a "new" band I like. Black Keys, Best Coast, Black Ox Orkestar. They can be considered new stuff, right? Anyway, I don't think my taste in music has changed much since I was 16, 17. I still love The Smiths, Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Suede, Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Cat Power, Smashing Pumpkins, The Beatles, The Cramps and stuff like that. But I have to say I've grown kind of sophisticated (or a snob) after 22. So I also turned to Cartola, Chico Buarque, Agridoce, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Erik Satie and so on. Actually, to be completely honest, I tend to obsess over some music or artist from time to time. Current one: Black Ox Orkestar.
Nothing will ever take The X-Files place in my heart when it comes to TV shows. But American Horror Story comes in a pretty close second place. Okay, not that close, but it's a fucking amazing show.
I'm always ready to try new flavors, but I have to say I'm a pseudo-vegetarian who cannot give up on Japanese food. I swear I try to avoid it, but sushi and sashimi can be pretty damn seductive. And now I'm even trying to go vegan!
There. Only 4.
Okay, that is bullshit. By now, I have just accepted the fact I am going to be late. Always. Perhaps even to my own funeral. What I really spend a lot of time thinking about is feminism, gender and women's issues. We would all be better off if the world understood how pressing these matters are.
