I am politely modest when, it matters, and spirited.

My Self-Summary

Well, where to begin. I've lived in Iowa my whole life. I love how there are four seasons to the year here, and I wonder if I'll ever get around to moving. Des Moines is pretty much just what I need all the time.

I'm friendly and open. I'm generally a nice person. Everybody says they don't judge people. I really don't judge people. I also root for the underdog. Social injustices are my pet peeve. (Ha ha, I sound like a super hero.)

I believe that humor can diffuse any situation, volatile, awkward, or otherwise. I practice often.

I have two small boys.

One of my biggest faults is that I am somewhat of a pushover. Well, I'm actually a giant pushover. Also, I have a quick temper.

Life is too short to waste on people who aren't open minded and accepting.

I'm really starting to get into this whole "green" thing going on. I recycle everything I can, and am really really considering becoming a vegetarian. Healthy planet, healthy body. I'm looking pretty good these days anyway, but that apple a day, that could really be the coup de grace here.

I have a dimple, the left side of my nose is pierced, and my name is Anna. I've got a couple tattoos, also. Those are pretty, maybe you could peek one out someday. :-)

I don't have a bad thing to say about anything except mean people. I really enjoy or think I could enjoy anything in the world.

I think I must take the opportunity to say that I'm a huge dork. And, AND, I spelled opportunity right. Ha ha! Proof.

"The evil that is in the world almost always comes of ignorance, and good intentions may do as much harm as malevolence if they lack understanding." -Albert Camus

I am not looking for casual encounters, so please don't talk to me about my boobs or any other part of my body that is usually covered in clothing.

What I’m doing with my life

Going to school. *does a happy happy dance*

Waiting (in the professional sense).

Meanwhile... Raising a family, half-assedly cleaning, and trying to get my mom to stop enabling my brother. Unfortunately, she is codependent so it's a losing battle.

Mostly, putting it back in it's proper place.

I’m really good at

I am a good cook with no practice. A natural.
Being silly. Comedic relief. It's better in person. Just saying.
The English language, but I try not to be too lofty.
Driving with my knees because I usually need two hands.
Putting it off... and getting it done.
Holding it all inside. Yay me. :-P

The first things people usually notice about me

Glasses. Long hair. Banging curves.

According to wittiestusername, my forehead is glorious.

This woman is funny... So she has that going for her.

^Thanks Jamie.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

BOOKS: I usually end up liking everything I take the time to read, and generally read whatever is recommended to me by someone I respect. Sometimes reading is hard for me because I get jealous of the characters in the books. When Harry Potter came out, I remember crying because I couldn't be a witch (I was twelve). You did too, don't lie.

MOVIES:
The Rocky Horror Picture Show; The Darjeeling Limited and other Wes Anderson goodies; STAR WARS; Birds of America; The Bridges of Madison County; Princess Mononoke; 10 Items or Less; Yes Man; Grapes of Wrath; Pulp Fiction; Pride and Prejudice; Lars and the Real Girl; Eulogy; Almost Famous; everything Disney-Pixar; Snatch; Perfume: The Story of a Murderer; Once; Run Lola Run; Venus; 12 Conversations About One Thing; West Side Story; Rent; Hair; Towelhead; Meet Bill; BatMan movies;

MUSIC:
My favorite music is Rock 'n' Roll. My favorite band is The White Stripes. I listen to everything else, too.

FOOD:
Oh man do I love vegetables. I love, love, love vegetables. Even the obscure ones, like squash. SUSHI. Warm bread. Granola. Chocolate. Comida mexicano autentico. Peaches. APPLES. Fried rice. Tofu. Man... there is tons of good food out there. Indian is good. BBQ is good. I love to try new things.

The six things I could never do without

1. Mechanical Transportation.

2. My closest friends, for loving me, even when.

3. Nature. Specifically, the smell of wet leaves on the ground in autumn.

4. Money. I am not happy with this fact.

5. Music, as this seems to be the only medium for my sentimentality.

6. Occasional time to myself. I have it in abundance these days. I am not happy with this fact.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I think about my career goals. The people important to me. Nice things I want to earn for myself. The path I'm walking. Sometimes, I think about random things of no importance to anyone. I'm extremely introspective. And then, of course, the next thing on my list of things "to do."

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually, I'm out. Sometimes, I'm in.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't know if this is abnormal, and I hope it isn't, but I've never been in a fight, or any other sort of physical altercation.

I'm fricken weird.

No, no. You should message me because I would love it if you did.
