I'm just your average college kid, I spend most of my time studying or hanging out with my friends, though I take my education seriously. I love music, mainly classic rock like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. I strive to be a better person, I am quiet and shy, but once I get to know you, I really open up. I am politically liberal, I believe that helping people helps you become a better person. The people that I want to meet would have to be liberal or at least leading more to the left, though, life can surprise you, so I'm pretty open and tolerant to people's points of view. They have to be fun, wacky sometimes,and make me laugh. They have to be passionate about music as I am. I want to meet someone who is intelligent and worldly, someone that will teach me something new everyday and who are respectful.

As cliche as it might seem, I am really here to meet new people, and if something were to develop, well, so be it.

Oh, yeah, and please, please don't be a jerk who is only looking out for one thing. I have my own life, and school is extremely important to me, I need to be with someone who is really intellectual, and has aspirations to actually be someone in life and not slave away at some menial job. I know it sounds really mean, but I tend to date men that are either currently at a university (not community college), and/or have a four-year degree or higher. This is not because I think men at a community college level are necessarily stupid, but some tend to be immature and relatively ignorant, but if you think you are different, let me know! I don't want to sound like an elitist, but I realize that I am way too good for some people.

*Ok, so it seems that a lot of you seem to be upset at the fact that I don't date men who aren't university educated. I didn't mean that I wouldn't date men of a certain educational level, it's just that I had an experience that made me doubt, but it certainly doesn't mean that I would poo-poo anyone that was interested in me but wasn't holding a 4-year degree.

I am going to college to make something of myself. Unlike most of my Hispanic female cohorts, who have children at a young age, marry young, drop out of school and work menial jobs, I want to stay away from all that. I want to show people that not all Hispanics are going down the toilet.

*I don't care if you think this is offensive, its not. I'm simply stating that its time to break down the barriers and stereotypes that people have of us. I am NOT putting Hispanics down, so don't bother telling me about it. You have to be at least marginally intelligent to understand what I am talking about, if not, too bad.

I'm also good at protesting things that I find wrong, like once, I sat on a tree branch for hours, so they wouldn't tear the park down (they didn't by the way). Yeah, I'm just a liberal treehugger like that. I walked on the march for the Day of the Immigrant.

They also can't seem to figure out what I am (I'm Mexican, not Asian, or half Asian or whatever).

Then how shy I can be, but then when I get comfortable, I talk too much!

Books: Too many, I love Gone with the Wind, as well as the sequel. Though I am kind of ashamed to say it, I have read all seven Harry Potter books. Also, Dante's Inferno, I personally don't believe in Hell, but if I had to, this book pretty much sums it up. And no, its not about Satanism, so don't think I worship Satan.

Movies: American History X, The Doors, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Amores Perros, Real woman have curves, love story, The 60's (tv movie), The Motorcycle diaries, The Mask of Zorro, Ever After, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Bobby, The Outsiders, Rebel without a Cause, The Last Unicorn, Tristan and Isolde

I love, love Classic rock, everything from The Beatles to U2. I also like 90's rock: STP, Alices in Chains, etc.

As for food, well, I'm a vegetarian, so that narrows down my opinions, just as long as it doesn't have lard, or meat juice, and of course, actual meat, I'm good. I hate cooking, but I can make a pretty good Tofu stir fry and soy tacos, lol.

My family, friends, love, cellphone, laptop, intelligence.

My past (yeah, I know), present and future. I'm constantly thinking about what I am going to do with my life.

As girly as it may seem, I also think about when I'm going to meet the love of my life, lol :D.

In the morning, go out and walk or jog, then go to class. Afterwards, I either go out with a guy on a date, hang out with friends, or decide to just stay home and rock out to music :).

Even though I am highly liberal(most would consider me a hippie or a communist) and I am very anti-war, it seems that I have developed a very strong attraction towards men in the armed forces. Is it the uniform? The fact that most of these men are highly disciplined and well-mannered? Or that it's very likely that we will have opposing views on everything and that I like a challenge? Who knows...thing is, my friends are not going to like it....
