I am intelligent, artistic, and mischeviously absurd.

My Self-Summary

What shall you wish to know about me? All that I could tell you would either be wasted for the fact that more than half of you really do not wish to know the depths of which I wish to show you but rather stick with the safe and shallow superficial facts that most feel offer just enough to view into the world of another being. So for you, who are afraid of anything deeper: my name is Anna and I am a single mother of a beautifully rambunctious toddler named Gryphon (pronounced the same as Griffin for those phonetically challenged). My current job is with Xerox out at the Koch, Ind building, which has been enough to get me through college at Friends University where I obtained a bachelor’s of science in Field Biology and a Psychology minor.

All right…for those of you who wish to actually hear what I wish to say you may continue reading through my random mental flatulence. As you may have guessed by now I have a unique personality that although may be somewhat abrasive and cynical, I’m still surprised at how many people actually find me humorous and quite endearing. I enjoy being a person of high intelligence and many have been amazed (really meaning: annoyed) at my extended knowledge of multitude of subjects.

However, I still enjoy being goofy, childish and over all having fun; and it is of my personal philosophy to always allow myself that element of folly and play to offset the staleness and severity intelligence often bring about. Recently I’ve been placed in a position to act as my friend's personal psychologist, which is all nice and dandy, but I guess it goes to show others that I am very apt at having insight into the inner workings of human minds. My affinity for psychology and philosophy give me this ability to see what others often overlook and to bring an understandable reason to voice about the seemingly unreasonable actions of humans.

Of course my favorite discipline of psychology is the study of abnormal psych, as you might have guess by all the ranting about insanity, obsession, death, rage and all the other unpleasantries of humanity. By reading and seeing my creative output on this site you may think of me as insane myself, I while I will not dispute your claim, I will say this: insanity is a necessity to obtain stability, without rage happiness cannot be recognized, chaos is needed to bring forth order and with all things there must be a balanced.

So many wish for me to label my personal philosophy, but really I tend to just jumble the elements of different philosophies into what suits me. I usually don't like to burden my world view with labels, but it seems as if I mix a heaping portion of nihilism with a glob of objectivism and individualism sprinkle in just a smidge of taosim for balance and mostly just make up the rest off the top of my head. :P

As you have guessed, I am an artist and I enjoy using my talent to express myself in a visual or written media. Currently I am teaching myself the techniques of painting in acrylics and seem to be pretty good at it. I also write poetry, but its not that fluffy, romantic crap, but is dark and morose like most of my art work.

I am also highly independent, but on the other hand, I can be loving, giving and kind to those who I care about. Many people consider me a very nice person, but I have a calloused reputation to uphold.

What I’m doing with my life

With school over with, I am increasingly thinking towards my future and I’ve been concentrating primarily on my career choices. I would enjoy extending my education in psychology, but I have found that I enjoy the possibility of working as a forensic scientist or possibly criminal profiling. I have also flirted with the idea of going to med school to become a pathologist, but I believe the ultimate career for me is college professor where I will have the opportunity to inspire and influence other great minds. Currently I am waiting on the approval from WSU to start up a grad program in Liberal Studies which will combined the three areas of biology, psychology and philosophy. I designed this program around PhD programs such as Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychobiology. Once I am approved I shall have my work cut out for me since I do plan to eventually obtain my PhD. My goal is to become a professor and perform research backed by some university in the areas of mental and mood disorders.

The first things people usually notice about me

How am I supposed to know...perhaps that is best left to others to answer and really completely irrelevant...

I do laugh a lot and enjoy every minute of it because the world is just that amusing.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music...I love most rock and heavy metal, but really I'll listen to just about anything that sounds good to me, no matter what it is. Some of my current favorites are Three Days Grace, Korn, Slipknot, Lincoln Park, System of a Down, etc. I also like classical...funny huh...I was after all a musician at one point in time. It just really depends on my mood.

Movies...Some of my favorite are the Shawshank Redemption, V for Vendetta, Papallion, Lord of the Rings, movies from M. Night Shyamalan, Tim Burton movies (especially Edward Scissorhands), etc.

Television...I watch TV mostly when I do not wish to think...unfortunatly it doesn't always work because I think to much. The only series I really liked recently was Heroes, House, CSI, Criminal Minds, stuff like that. I will admit I do like to watch star trek, X-files and m.a.s.h. (I know I'm a nerd)

Books I love to read...In truth I am addicted to books and will read about 3 to 6 books a month, depending on the size of the book. My favorite authors are: Ayn Rand, E.E. Knight, Chuck Palahniuk, Steven King, Melanie Rawn, R.A. Salvatore, Tolkien, Douglass Adams, E.A. Poe, etc. Anything sci-fi or fantasy really, but I'm always up for new books so if you have a good author then please by all means tell me about them.

Food...I like good food that is also healthy. If I do cook, I like it to be something actually kind of fancy...or seemingly fancy. My favorite is Italian and of course seafood. Chocolate is a great love of mine.

The six things I could never do without

A book to read, art supplies, a hug and kiss from my little boy, spell check (even if I don't use it), a hot shower, a good vibrator.....

I spend a lot of time thinking about

everything...need I say more

On a typical Friday night I am

Having dinner with my family, before inviting my friends over to hang out and get a little crazy. Normally this means me and my fellow nerdy guy friends sitting around trying to beat each other in chess and/or risk while smashed out of our minds....oh what fun. I'm such a nerd...but hey Nerds Rock!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

mostly everything...I am not shy, nor do I regret anything about myself so I'll tell all and not care a bit.

I can be bit of a smart ass at times....like you couldn't tell.

You should message me if

you can understand most if not all of what I've said and can provide intellectual conversation....and can handle my interesting form of humor.
